Ya know, I kinda dont care what the experts say....the Braves arent the best team in baseball....its the Orioles. Why? Because A. nobody ever gave the Orioles a shot to contend this year even with how they finished last year and B. The NL East is a complete joke. The 2nd place team is like 11 games back while the 2nd place team in the AL East is only a game and a half back. Im gonna take being better than the Rays, Blue Jays and Yankees any day over the Mets and Phillies.

A couple of thoughts:
The Braves

1) 5-8 Record against AL East, including being swept by Toronto
2) Only 4 position players that played in the '21 World Series are on the roster ...... recall Acuna was out and didn't play
3) The Bullpen is shaky at best, even now that Minter has returned
4) 2 of their big chips are from Oakland where there was little pressure.....one of them is really slumping now....

The Os definitely look good and could well be the best team in baseball....in a year where there really isn't a "Best". Everyone usually loves the Dodgers and I refer to them as Atlanta West....seem to come up short in the Post Season.

Anyhoo, I'd say Texas would get my nod, but they just made a splash and sometimes those can mess with chemistry.....

Another note...we're taking in a game at Camden next week....$21 1st Base line and the opponent is the Astros....can't beat that...

Now they're pushing the Unlimited Pass for August....link below:

It's not the first time theyve done packages like this, but sadly the tickets are standing room only.

Phillies had similar in '21 ... i believe it was September and outfield seats.... great deals abound from D.C. to Pittsburgh and points between

Love the Sunday Kids run the bases at Camden....

Why Oakland still has a team in their ancient stadium is amazing.

Soooo the Braves can't beat Philly now.....are they TRYING to drop to the #2 Seed to be opposite Milwaukee/CHC?

That Bracket is REALLY stupid as it should be based on Seeding.

Anywho, lets see if the Dodgers pursue the #1 Seed......

And, can the Padres Sneak in? Hottest Team in the Majors...

I only say this because statistically only 1 game gained in the standings per week is a reasonable gain…about 75% of the time over history.

So with 10 days left…neither scenario is likely

I'd agree with the Padres.....as I asked if they could sneak in...

Braves 4 games in the clear? You have made the mistake of looking at the Win column, and it's the Loss column that matters:

Loss Column
55 Braves
57 Dodgers

Braves Magic number is 8.....as they have the tie-breaker with Dodgers (they also have the tie-breaker with Baltimore)

Current Standings
Braves 97-55
Dodgers 93-57
Baltimore 95-57

With 8 Wins the Braves Record would be 105-57...... best Dodgers or Orioles could do would be tie.....

I honestly didn’t look at it that closely…

Still…the dodgers would probably have to go like 8-2 to catch them…minimum

**edit*** make that 3 zip.....our Ace Strider....book on him is just get through the order once and put the ball in play. No need to swing for the fence until the 6th Inning on. He REALLY looks bad this year from the 6th Inning and deeper...

Good teams can cruise in and turn it back on…at least in baseball

I’ve seen my team “formerly known as the Boston Red Sox” do it a couple of times…

Looked like slugs then flipped the switch
