The NL Champion Phillies have started this season O for 3.
Now they play the NY Yankees.
They might just dig themselves such a hole that they'll never recover. 🤔

My family is rooting for rookie Anthony Volpe , a 21 year old Jersey boy starting SS for his childhood dream team the Yankees. Judge helped him by buying Volpe business attire so Volpe can look the part when traveling to away games.

Braves are on a run.......come from behind victories in the past few games....including a sweep of that team from Gotham

Does anyone else CRINGE the inning AFTER Spencer Strider is given a lead? He is an ESPN highlight bonanza....

Yyyyyyyep. I like his pitching. But I always feel we are riding the line of disaster.

Acuna's base running make you cringe more?

Horrifying 1 run victory today while taking a 3 run lead into Bottom of 9th....with a late Acuna hot dog display on the base path...should have been a 4 run lead...

Yeah, I saw the highlight of that play. “What are you doing?!?!” is what I yelled at the tv.

I just checked the standings and as of this post the METS have 37 wins and 46 loses!
Pre season expectations were much brighter than that.
What do posters here feel is the biggest reason they are 9 games under 500?

What's really embarrassing is Tampa Bay with one of the lowest payroll ( $73M) is in first place and NY Mets ( $350M) payroll owner $18B Billionaire Cohen thought money could buy the best players to win championships and now this.

Well, I usually say it has something to do with clubhouse chemistry. A lot of talents that don’t flow well together. A team has to be built. Not just the most expensive players thrown together.

In soccer in Europe that's the formula for success , billionaire owners buy the most expensive players to win titles. I would like to know where superman Otani from the Angels will go as a free agent. The Yankees and Mets will surely throw up to $500M his way to come to the East Coast. He's no fool, he will not stay with the Angels.
