7 years, $215 million. That, my friends, is the new deal Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers just agreed to. I don't know if this puts them out of the Tanaka running or not. From what I'm told, Tanaka has the Yankees, Dodgers and Angels as three final options. His wife prefers the West Coast but knowing the Yankees, they're not going to let Tanaka go to the LA teams without a fight. Deadline is the 24th and I have a feeling whoever gets him will be an 11th hour deal.....

Does everyone want me to start a new thread once spring training has begun for the 2014 season or are you all fine with this thread because it's only 28 pages so far?

Tanaka has reportedly agreed to a 7 year $155m contract with the Yankees.

I can only hope he'll be worth it. I mean, I prefered Tanaka over Ubaldo Jimenez, Garza, Arroyo and ErvIn Santana put together. There are definitely some concerns considering they blew it with Igawa and Irabu in the past. 7 years, $155 million is a lot but he does have the opt out after his 4th year though. It's always a lot of pressure to play in New York but as of now, he's the number three starter or four, possibly could jump to number two for whatever reason so I would hope that means less pressure as opposed to being slotted into a number one in Chicago.

Braves 1B Freddie Freeman was stuck on the icy roads in Atlanta, so Chipper Jones took his ATV out to rescue him.
