MK private event tonight (May 31) - early close and perimeters for Wishes

That would fall under personal taste. Unlike the dozen atmosphere performers they had roaming in the area. How much would you pay To go to that event?
How much would I pay? Dunno. I think to me something like tonight should be happening during the halloween parties. I would pay the halloween ticket if this is what I was getting with it rather than a different firework show and parade.

So you'd be ok deep sixing the parade? I could get behind that - it eats up a lot of labor. So do keeping the 5 high capacity greets open and b2b dwarfs. That's where my axe would go first

I think the parade offering is something many folks enjoy. But having a parade shouldn't have to equate to having no meet and greets especially under the company. Sure have the meet and greets take a break during the parade. But there's no reason for offers like that to be held all in the same night. But it all boils down to what they know people will pay versus what's expected of them and how much they don't or do need to do for guests to be satisfied. TO me the price of the halloween special has never been worth it, but throwing in all those extra characters and suddenly I am considering it. Different standards for different folks and nothing wrong with that.

If they included food and drinks I'd pay $400 for sure

I truly am curious as to why you would pay the $400? How much do you believe you would eat/drink in 5 hours to justify this charge on top of getting to ride attractions with somewhat shorter lines. I personally don't think I could eat/drink more than $100-150 worth of the stuff Disney would provide, so you're suggesting that the time savings is worth more than twice a full day admission to the MK. I'm just trying to understand your thought process.

I think it would be nice to have a "rare character" event like once a year, where they do like last night and really bring out the characters and maybe have perimeter fireworks. And I think as a special hard ticket event for around $100 a lot of people would bite. I don't know if that's enough money for Disney though.

Try $300-400.

He's not. He's saying the unique entertainment, decor plussings, and lack of savages is worth it. You don't go to an event like this to ride rides

They did-last year at the villains. And look how that worked out. You can't have over the top entertainment and Lo crowds without commanding a high premium

The only thing I have a problem with is that they don't run one of these at a luxury price point for the general public

Well.... Perhaps they'll listen or realize there's a demand.

$450+tax, limited hard ticket with that entertainment & fireworks. Not all the rides either... Like an old-school E-Ride night with Super entertainment, fireworks, food and an adult beverage.

Make it once or twice a year, bill it as the highest end for the hardcore Disney people.

Just a thought....

I wouldn't eat or drink that much either but if Disney was going to add that that's how much I think they would charge and I would pay that. I wish we could see these characters every day at the price we are paying now but it's not going to happen.

Slightly off-topic, but I went to the IPW site to see if I could register for one of these conferences someday to get into one of these parties and now I'm wondering what exactly this conference is. I looked around the website and what I can piece together is that there are sellers / exhibitors and buyers in the travel industry attending that have one-on-one meetings set-up by a computer (but can be manually changed). So what exactly is being bought and sold? My current theory is that someone like AAA or Costco goes as a buyer, buys hotel rooms, transportation, and experiences in bulk and then puts them together to re-sell them as packages. Is this in the ballpark? Sorry, but it's really bugging me now. Just thought someone might have some insight.

Or they will just do something like the VIP package for Star Wars Weekends?

Interesting idea, but I think we're talking about taking this to a whole Different level.

I mean you would think that management would perform their due diligence and examine whether or not a limited attendance, hard ticket, super entertainment night and how much guests would be willing to pay.

I mean if they're talking about a 1D1P being $125, the hard ticket I describe above would have to be $500-$750.

The problem with a hard ticket as described above is that you have to hit a significant critical mass to make it cost effective over the opportunity costs of keeping the park open. That is why I think what you will see is more of the Star Wars Weekend style programs where the VIP gets a more segregated access to the events and some private functions during the event. I'm sure you could get some guests who would be willing to pay a lot of money for some of the kind of events you suggest. I'm just not sure short of some big backer who fronts a lot of the cost with a huge check, it would ever happen. At least this has been the way a lot of big ticket events that I have been at elsewhere have gone down.

Personally, I hate this trend of the two class system. I just don't anything that will slow it down anytime soon.
