Coca-Cola use to sponsor parties at Universal Studios for Burger King franchisee conventions. Went to a couple and they were a blast. The original Harry Potter wasn't open yet, but we got to preview some of the queues and view the area. Walk-on rides + free booze and food :) People handing you hot dogs and beer as you walk down the street and open buffets in all the restaurants. Ahhhh, those were the days!

I'd say several million were spent as a rough estimate. Y'know, ball park figure. ;)

Hey now, I want to the Galactic Dance Party for two hours of my life I will never get back this past Friday. DJELLIOT was slaying it, bald spot and bad hand gestures were on point.

Also the AP/CM backlash on instagram. No offense, but no CM party is going to have this much involved. We spend very little money. Same with APs.
I agree with the spend, but where's the event to cater to the whales? Harambe nights was on that path but it got cancelled.

I can only respond when I'm done laughing.

:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

For the longest time it and Villians were on track. No idea what happened. Folks complaining about premium packages? As far as I had known, the idea of Harambe was to get used to running parts of AK in the evening. That was part of the point of Harambe Market in general.
That's true the current dessert party/VIP parade viewings are a joke compared to this, but they sell out

Honestly probably $200-$250 going on the assumption it's 7-12 like MNSSHP
That's probably a fair price assuming it didn't include food & beer like this one did. Then id say $400.

They used to do these all the time for Disneyana & merchandise events. I know people who would go just for the status, there's an untapped market not sure why they ignore it

Agree. Perspective - was at the Make A Wish Ball Saturday - $350 a person, dinner and charity donation. Could you imagine if Disney did a private event where a chunk of change went to charity from the evening?

Caveat - I was volunteering, not spending that much on dinner at the Waldorf Astoria.
Disneyland still does the CHOC walk-WDW no such thing exists.

If they included food and drinks I'd pay $400 for sure

This is incredible but operationally they can pull it off with out 60K people plowing through the park. I wonder if we don't get all of this cool stuff because they just cannot control the crazy fans and would have no way to create lines for all of this on a normal day?

Maybe the answer is bring out a few daily and keep things fresh.

Just had that discussion with a um....character creeper? I think that's what she calls herself.

Me: We can't bring out someone like Megara on a daily basis because the overall demand isn't that high.
Her: But she had a 4 hour line at Villians.
Me: Because she is rare, and the entire group of AP/etc stood for her.
Her: Well that means she should be out all the time.
Me: No, that means she should at most have a week of limited time magic. If we had her out all the time, eventually the allure would dwindle and she would be a budget eater with a small line.
Her: Well, we should have a Greece Pavilion with Hercules and Meg in Epcot.
Me: I can't.

Lol this is so true! Why having some make surprise appearances all year is acceptable all the time no thank you.

How much per WDWMagic registered forum member for us to buy out the MK for a night? It may be the only way in our lifetime for us to see WDW firing on all cylinders. I wonder if we pay enough we could have a Bob Iger meet-and-greet... or dunking booth?

Who am I kidding, we couldn't even rent out DHS.

What does corporate buy out nights tell us about WDW these days?

- They can put on a great show when the money is right.
- They are very capable of doing random/rare "magic" encounters for guests when motivated ($$).
- They are willing to close the busiest theme park in the world at 6:00pm for a corporate buy out and still charge full price admission for those guests visiting MK that day. These hours are even more reduced from WDW's own up charge events that close at 7:00pm.
- The above is being done in a park where the per day admission is greater than the others on property.

Yet, we are supposed to believe that WDW is the most magical place on earth and now more than ever we are in greater control of our vacation experience than ever before.

Who's living in Fantasyland now?

The only thing I have a problem with is that they don't run one of these at a luxury price point for the general public

Why aren't there more "Heroes" meet and greets? I would think that would be extremely popular.
Maybe for a week. Everyone needs to understand that WDW changes character lineups 2x a year with very few exceptions. Anything they cast needs to have enough legs to draw a crowd 6 months.

It's not cheap but it is lazy. It's also the way it's been for ten years
