I have a lot of old documents from my great-grandfather's generation, and we have a journal that DH's grandmother wrote just after she was rescued from the Titanic.

Sometimes people don't realize what they have.
It's important to preserve that information.

It looks like she already had been. The made copies of the first few pages because they were crumbling, and had everything in plastic bags.

Try to get non acidic papers/envelopes, etc so they papers don't deteriorate further.
