Getting ready for a busy weekend.

Off to the GF's tomorrow evening. Saturday evening we are visiting a couple of her friends then I have to head back home late Saturday because I have a BBC radio gig all day Sunday.

We are recording some short radio plays at the Bristol Old Vic. Rehearsing all day (as well as three of us having to learn some sea shanties) then recording in the evening before a live audience.

Don't forget about eBay too! I got my veil for $10 (gorgeous, with a gold trim to match the dress) and my headpiece for $20. I also got bridal party gifts on eBay too - customized tote bags that I filled with fun stuff, for $5 each. I had so much fun bargain hunting.

It's silly, that you gather all this specialized knowledge about this niche industry, then you never get to use it again, since by the time the kids are old enough, things have changed so much. I'm happy to put that knowledge to some good use!

What do you make in your crockpot? I'm getting tired of all the same things over and over. One can only make the chicken with Cream of Mushroom soup so many times...

Go to the library and look at some of the crockpot cookbooks! I make pot roast, stew, chicken caccitore or frickase. You can make just about anything in one as long as you adjust the seasonings and liquid. I couldn't live without mine or my breadmaker.

Hiya everyone... MJ napped but is still feeling cruddy..I can't give her more meds for another hour, sigh....she has once again reverted to sign only, I am now so glad we started her on it 4 years ago....

I've been without my breadmaker for 2 years, it is killing me....Oh well, we'll pick one up at WM for 40.00 it is a good one...I use my crockpot all the time, also my foreman grill...

Sea Shanties?

Shanties are the work songs that were used on the square-rigged ships of the Age of Sail. Their rhythms coordinated the efforts of many sailors hauling on lines. Much loved by modern sailors and folk musicians, they are rarely used as work songs today. This is because modern rigging doesn't require many people to be working in the same rhythm for long periods.

Traditional shanties can be grouped into three types: short haul shanties, for tasks requiring quick pulls over a relatively short time; halyard shanties, for heavier work requiring more setup time between pulls; and capstan shanties, for long, repetitive tasks requiring a sustained rhythm, but not involving working the lines.

Thats about the only section I visit anymore! :lol: I have a huge collection of my own and I found out a long time ago to borrow one and see if its any good before buying them. Some of the cooking magazines (like Taste of Home, etc) have slowcooker sections. If you have anything in mind just let me know and I'll see what I can find. :wave:
