I'd shake my head at you, but at this point something might fall out.

Well, basically it is just a shell. The inside is ruined.Connor002 said:Well, it could have been worse.
At least you still have a place to return, and eventually to restore (rebuild?)..
Here is the garage.Connor002 said:Actually, it tough for me to imagine.
I've never seen such widespread devastation on US shores before.

First, everything needed to be documented and removed.
Second, floors, walls etc. had to be removed.
Third, everything needs to be rebuilt on the inside (walls, floors, paint, etc)
The third takes the longest because:
a) materials are in such high demand.
b) my father works out of town, and I live out of town.
c) Insurance companies suck.
Here is the garage.

In the garage you will notice two large freezers. Both freezers were full of deer meat, duck meat, fish, shrimp, etc. This was late August in Louisiana, imagine the stench.
You can also see the waterline in the garage on the wall.
I have hundreds of pics. I'll do my best to add more.
Thank you everyone for all of the compassion.

I was up (woken :lookaroun ) around eight Saturday morning, and we set off. After about a 30 minute ride to the Hamilton Train Station in NJ. Upon arriving, it was clear the weather decided to disagree with us, and with a swift lurch of an NJ Transit train to Penn Station, New York, Connor and Co. pulled away from the damp and foggy morning station and into a journey to new lands.
That new land was New York City, and that journey was about an hour and a half long. :lookaroun

I'm definitely going to do it, it is just the timing.joanna71985 said:I'm sorry about what happened to your house. I say definitely do the CP, whether it be next year or in 2008. I did it in 2005 (and am hoping to do it next semester) and it is great! I loved it for many reasons (one being that I hope to work for Disney full-time once I finish school).

While hectic, rebuilding the house is exciting, and I want to be home next spring to enjoy the newness.

When we arrived at Penn Station (Which, interestingly enough, is actually below Madison Square Gardens) there was still about 2 hours to kill be fore showtime. So what do tourists in NYC do? Stumble around and see a few sights of course!
