MJ's Pixie Dust Gang

Then he'll love this place.
If he's interested it's called "Jack's Place" and it's located on the corner of Hegerman & Wellington Sts. (1 block south of Cottman, 2 blocks east of Torresdale) We ordered our sandwiches yesterday for tomorrow, because once they run out of rolls (they're soooo good) that's it for the hoagies!

Wow! It must be good if you have to order 2 days in advance.

I completely forgot to ask my husband last night about the DVR question. He is big into technology stuff like that...he attempts to tell me about the new updates that just came down from the satellite to our DVR....I never have any idea what he is saying, so I just smile and nod. I'm sure he would know the answer to the question.

I have no idea how that works.
I just know it's included in our cable package and I love it!

It's especially great for me now, since some nights I have to go to bed early in order to get up for work. I can set up my favorite shows and not miss anything!

I don't use it to often....DH on the other hand records more shows than I have ever seen one person watch.

I like to record the Young and the Restless...its great to watch shows and be able to fast forward through the commercials.

Sounds like George! He always has a zillion shows recorded and if one of mine is on the list for more than a few days he'll start asking me when I'm going to watch it!
It is great to zip through commercials! Or to hear a line of dialogue you just didn't catch the first time.

Jay does the exact same thing!!!! We get a Fitness TV channel and they have all different kinds of workout programs. So I started recording a couple of the ones that I likes...I figured I could have some variety in my exercise. After 3 days and about 4 or 5 shows he started getting antsy and wanted to know when I was going to delete them. Men! can't live with them...can't live without them :D

Hi Dot...didn't want to hi-jack the thread so I'll tell you here

Betty La Fea (Ugly Betty) was a huge phenomenon in Colombia a few years back. Well, I should say the novela was Colombian, but it won international fame. Now, they made a Mexican version called "La Fea Mas Bella" (the most beautiful ugly woman  ). In the Mexican version they make it much more comical and that's what I like. As far as the American version is concerned, I'm not too sure whether it will follow the same plot as the others, but so far it has. And if it does, I guess I won't tell you what happens with Ugly Betty over the course of its run  It might actually be different now that I think of it because it's an actual show, whereas the Mexican and Colombian versions are novelas, and those always come to an end.

The end :lookaroun

Thanks for bringing this over here, Regina!
I wouldn't want to get anyone mad at me!

Wow! This sounds very intriguing!
I appreciate the humor of the show, but I also like the idea of promoting self-esteem based on accomplishment, rather than appearance.
It will be interesting to see where this goes.
Thanks again Regina!

You're right in that it does send a good message. In the Mexican version they do a lot of teasing about her appearance as well as her group of co-workers (they're known as the club of the "uglies" ). But she does get....:zipit:

Nevermind :lookaroun

No problem

Hey everyone. I had a so-so day. The surprise was very nice (if Bonny doesn't get on before me tomorrow, I will post details). And work was a riot. I had so much fun. However, the so-so part was....well, can you tell?:lookaroun I am extremely upset and disguested right now. We should have won that game.:( Well, goodnight all.

Awwww.... *hugs joanna* I'm sorry your team lost. I know how it feels. I've gone through the same thing many times as a Cardinal fan. But be proud of your mets for a great season and a great series. ( it really was a great series )

She seems so down-to-earth. No one should have to go through that in such a spotlight. I was really pretty disappointed that they did that - an obvious publicity stunt at her expense.

Betty...you mentioned this earlier and I wanted to comment on it. Sara is a very nice girl. I have seen her in concert once and she is just a down home Missouri girl. (I've heard kind of ditzy from a friend who has met her...but she is sweet).

nibbs!!!! We're goig to the WS!!!!!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Sorry if I'm rubbing it in for the Mets fans, I honestly know how it feels. I'm very sorry for your loss. but thanks for a great series though.

Whoo hoo!!!!!

Rainy morning hello to all!
Congrats to IB and Nibbs, I'm sooo sorry Joanna. That game was a real nail-biter - I thought they'd pull it out in the end with the bases loaded!

I'm kind of in and out today - still researching that DVR.

Good morning all!
Rainy here too. So gloomy. :(
Yay to Nibbs and IB! :sohappy:
And so sorry Joanna! :(

Thanks guys!
