I hope you get all the medication issues worked out. It sucks that there are people out there who abuse the system and take much needed money away from people like MJ who truly need the assistance.

I know exactly what you mean!! When we were getting ready to move here my husband was set on the fact that we would buy a house and not rent..eventhough we are pretty sure that we won't be here longer than 3 years. Well when we made the trip up here to look at houses we discovered that they were about 3-4x's the prices of our hometown. We actually found one house that we really really liked but in the end we just decided to live in the apartments at the hospital where he works. It was a much cheaper option for us and since we know it's temporoary...I can live with it.

Look at structure, plumbing, electrical and location... and that's it. Just about everything else can be changed - a lot of which can be done cheaply. You'd be surprised what painting and some patching can do.

Just remember girly... pay more attention to the neighborhood and the layout of the house... not the little details like clean carpet, scuff marks, broken appliances, peeling paint, etc... all that can be fixed with just a little effort... it's the layout of teh home and the neighborhood that you'll have to live with. Good Luck sweetie! I know it's a tedious process... but one of these days you're going to find just the right house for you! I know it!
