The guy who bought them is a Canadian who wants to bring a team to Canada. He paid $220 mill for a team worth only $130. You don't pay that much money to keep the team in Nashville. There is also an out clause in the Predators contract with the city that if they don't average 14,000 people a game in consecutive years, they can leave. Last season, they only got 13,800. That means if they don't get 14,000 next year, they could leave. There's speculation now that this new owner will gut the team of talent and raise ticket prices for next year, making sure the fans won't come. It seems bleak for Nashville. The Penguins were saved because there was this enormous outpouring of support for them. They had 40 years of rich hockey history and tradition. Nashville is new to hockey and I don't think the same level of support is there for them.
hmmm... that's too bad.

I'd rather have a baseball team though! ;)

Hmph! Baseball is the most boring sport around. It's slower than curling! :lookaroun

Ah, but do they wear cool uniforms in curling?
Huh?? Do they?
And do they get to slide in dirt and make a mess of said uniforms?
Hmm?
Hey! The Phillies played 11 innings before blowing it once again last night!
Boring. . .I think not!

From The Simpsons:

Homer tries to take his mind off his troubles at the ball park, where
he is the only person in the stands not drinking.

Announcer: ...the windup and a 2-2 pitch. Oh, no, wait a minute, the
batter is calling for time. Looks like he's going to get
himself a new bat. And now there's a beach ball on the
field, and the ball boys are discussing which one of them's
going to go get it.
Homer: [only one not drinking] I never realized how boring this
game is.
