I have an etiquette question if anyone has any answers.
DD and I are invited to Dave's niece's bridal shower. They enclosed cards about where the are registered, and frankly, there's nothing on their lists that I can afford, or would choose to give as a shower gift. Would it be wrong for me to give them something else, or perhaps a gift card instead of a gift from her list?![]()
Sure!
It's not required that you buy from the registry.
That's what I thought, but I just didn't want to rock the boat.Sure!

Thanks Rick - I've always respected your opinions......I agree with Dot on this Betty...but.. I am a man.. and registry to me has something to do with a fishing license...so..............

Incidentally, since I clearly wore the wrong thing to their other daughter's graduation party last weekend, they specified on the invitation that "Attire is dressy casual". :ROFLOL:

I guess I'd better get shopping then!Good point.
You do know that pants are required, right?
And it's always a good idea to wear shoes of some sort.

Are they trying to live above everyone else's means? Give them something that you want to give them, from your heart.I have an etiquette question if anyone has any answers.

What did you show up in? A two piece and flip flops?:lol:Incidentally, since I clearly wore the wrong thing to their other daughter's graduation party last weekend, they specified on the invitation that "Attire is dressy casual". :ROFLOL:
:ROFLOL:Yes.
And they might frown on tube tops, so you might want to rethink that option too.
