We used to get the strangest creatures in our sleeping bags when I was in the Army. You would shake them out before you crawled in and then in the morning you would get snakes, scorpions, spiders, and other things in them when you woke up.

This guy got loose on our base, here in New York. This is a camel spider and they are from Afghanastan/Irag area.

Deep breathes Jen... They don't travel in packs.

And if it's small (6 inches or so) that's actually a young adult (curses to my DH for teaching me all this crap) they're about 3 inches when born - and they're born in March-April. (and in the late summer too) At that size they won't bite at all. (well they might try but honestly they won't come after you - they are far more terrified of you than you are of them) You're safe. Kiddo's are safe. It's ok...

It's a phobia, honestly Jess, I know all this rationally, but I am completely irrational on this subject. I'm not worried about them biting, I just HATE them. And I found it in my family room underneath some laundry I was getting ready to take upstairs.

It was funny because they issued a BOLO (Be on the Look Out) with a picture of this and we had it posted like those Dead or Alive posters.

A solider caught one and mailed it back to his wife here. She opened the package and it jumped out at her, she called the cops who came to investigate. The spider was in the garage at this time and the idiot cop opend the garage door all the way and it ran off into the woods. Needless to say, I refused to do under vehicle searches.

So it might still be on the loose and making lots of scary spider-alien babies?!

Where do the soldier and his wife live?

*whispers* please don't say Tennessee, please don't say Tennessee...:lookaroun

My grandfather had a heart attack...:(
{{{HUGS}}}
he's stable... and it was a mild one.. but this is his second one, and he's in his mid to late 80's... I'd really like him to be able to see Sprout...
AWW..Prayers sweetie...Love you!
that's Vince's problem... I just do the hiring!
:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: I love you!
I'll sing a song and bat my pretty eyes, flip my hair, and giggle and lure him in.. and then WHACK! :lookaroun
 I can do that also..I do every day..;)
They don't bite... and if they do it's probably a girl and she's pregnant which means she'll be moving slow... just try to trap her in something and take her far away from your house so she doesn't care for a return visit anytime soon. Be sure not to put it someplace hot - the reason she's in your house in the first place is b/c she found some place to cool off.

No worries...
Reptile queen to the rescue..LOL
To everyone else. . .good morning!
