It's funny how close I feel to y'all. It kind of snuck up on me. When I was thinking about who we told about DH's new job I went through the list in order: my mom, our roomate (I think I've told y'all about him), the MJ-ers, DH's mom, our "real world" friends! :lol: Shows how much I love sharing my life with you guys!

Did I see you say George is Judge?

If he is... I've completely missed that all this time. :lol: I thought he was a writer.... lol

Okay, let me clear this up. . .
George is not a judge. :lol:
He is the Judge of Elections at our polling place, which means that he's in charge of the place on election day and all the problems that go with it.
Yesterday was a mayoral primary here . . .a major deal.
He worked from 5:30 AM till 9:00 PM. . .and it was his birthday.

*BIG HUGS* for the birthday boy! What a rotten way to spend a birthday! Although... being the friendly fella he is - he probaby loved getting to spend his birthday around so many people. :lol:

And since all the people who voted were our friends and neighbors everyone made a big deal out of it being his birthday. The Rec Center director even baked him a cake and all the poll workers sang Happy Birthday. He managed to get a good day out of it!

Are you and the girls doing anything fun with/for him this weekend?


Speaking of birthday's...
Tomorrow is my daddy's birthday... I still need to find something for him - mom said he needs nice shirts for an upcoming trip they're taking. But I hate getting him shirts. I can always tell he smiles and says he loves them... but he's a man... what man really loves getting clothes? :lol: I know better - so I have to find something good to add on....

For christmas Lizzy got her paw paw a SC license plate that said "REDNCK" He LOVES it. :lol: So dumb but he put it on the front of his truck. So I guess it fit. :lol: Now we've got to find something to top that. LOL

Thanks. It is a phone interview. Well, I do have apprehensions, but no matter what fears I have, I stop and look at my life now and go "This is all it's ever gonna be if you don't go for this." I don't know what will happen to me. I know very well that it could all go wrong, but at least I'll know. At least, I tried. It was very much the same thing two months ago. I knew I was putting my heart on the line and stood a good chance of getting hurt. And I did... and boy, how I did. I got hit harder than I could have ever imagined and it still stings. But I had to do it. I would rather feel the way I do now that never know and regret.

It does depend on your age. Starting young like at 25 is great. The older you are, the more you need to contribute. I'm 25 and right now, I contribute 10% of my salary to retirement. I'm told you should try to max out your contributions but I don't want to do that just yet. Maybe when I make more money.

If you don't have one already, you should get a Roth IRA. We have one, and I'll be honest i don't really understand it all... but you can't cash out on it until you're 60 or for 30 years which ever comes first. We can put in up to $2,500 a year and it gains a nice amount of interest. Our financial advisor said it was the best way to safely save for retirement.

So that'd be my suggestion. :)
