We can't prove it, but they think it was hers. Her name was Amy Stanley, and was the only Amy on the ship. We saw it in Boston, and they took pictures of us with it.

Wow, did she have any other personal items she was able to save from that night? I can't begin to imagine what she went through....did she ever speak of it?

She actually died the year before DH was born, but we do have a copy of the letter she wrote home after that. Many of the things in the movie were exactly as she described, which was really freaky. Even the character Rose had a similar fate to a lady she met there named Rosa. She was one of the few people rescued who were found floating on debris (as was Rose in the movie), and her sons had hung onto it with her 'til they slipped away and died, as did Jack.
