She actually died the year before DH was born, but we do have a copy of the letter she wrote home after that. Many of the things in the movie were exactly as she described, which was really freaky. Even the character Rose had a similar fate to a lady she met there named Rosa. She was one of the few people rescued who were found floating on debris (as was Rose in the movie), and her sons had hung onto it with her 'til they slipped away and died, as did Jack.
wow...that is freaky!

All I can say is wow....I was extremely impressed with the recreation of the ship and what they believed happened that night.

Well guys, I have to go fix supper. I'm also going to go look for my Titanic exhibition book to see if I can find that bracelet! I'll probably check in later, so I don't get too far behind....

Yes it is! Her roomates in her cabin were a small child who was rather spoiled, and her nanny. The child had a very expensive doll that she had absolutely no interest in, which bothered Amy considerably. When they got onto the lifeboats, the child realized that she didn't have the doll, and she made a tremendous fuss about it. The opening scene in the movie scans the bottom of the ocean, and there, plain as day is a doll's head. I got goosebumps when I saw it...
