Hello....
Just looking through the library's website to see what books I wanna get tomorrow.
I don't know if told ya'll this, but (ok long story here...), my mother's brother (my uncle)'s wife's sister's 60th birthday is this month. My uncle and aunt are having a surprise party for her on Saturday at a hotel in northern NJ.
Sooooo.... my parents are both invited, but I'm not. My dad doesn't want to go, but my mom is going to go, so I decided I would just ride up with her, and then I'll stay up in our hotel room, and just watch TV and read.
Annnnd... my mom's HS reunion is coming up, and they are thinking of having it at this hotel, so she's gunna meet with the banquet manager.
Sooooooo.... that's why I need books to read.
I just started "Godless" by Pete Hautman this evening.
It's alright.
Nothing terrific.

Thanks!Get some good books, Freddy!
And have a fun trip with your mom!
Hmmm... I'll have to look into those.Might I suggest Flowers for Algernon. Like I said, very good. Slaughterhouse-Five by Vonnegut is great. Anything by vonnegut is great, really. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime if you haven't read it already. Life of Pi. Catcher in the Rye is good too.
I'd go with literature. I like literature.

I love literature, too.
I'm seriously considering becoming a high school Eng teacher.![]()
You could always start Gone with the Wind. That will last you a good long while :lookaroun
I'm thinking of something a little shorter. :lol:You could always start Gone with the Wind. That will last you a good long while :lookaroun
EDIT: Or Moby D!ck.
Or anything by Tolstoy or Dostoevsky.
I'm thinking of something a little shorter.
I've been wanting to read The Secret Life of Bees.
Maybe I'll do that one. :veryconfu
A tome. . .
But oh so good!
Its pretty popular around here.I don't know that one.
Its pretty popular around here.
It may be considered more an "adult" book.
I dunno though.
Looks good.
Hmmm....I'd suggest Everything is Illuminated, but that one threw me off a bit.
One-Hundred Years of Solitude was suprisingly good.
The movie was definitely enough for me.
Hmmm....
I've also been wanting to read that Oprah Book Club book A Million Little Pieces.
I get soooooo lost and absorbed into the books when in a library or bookstore!
Seriously a good book.
But maybe not "guy" material.
I don't know. . .my Dad gave it to me.
It was one of his favorites.
Yes. :lol:That's the one where the guiy lied about everything, right? :lookaroun
One of my very good friends has been nagging me to read it ever since she read it about a month ago. :lol:I have only liked one book recommended by Oprah's Bookclub. . .
Steinbeck's East of Eden.
And I read that long before Oprah told me to!
