*~*~* MJ's Chatter Boxes *~*~*

This is DH's sister, not BIL's wife. Mind you, she's retired from the Navy, has no children, no resposibilities, etc. She of all people should have the time to get things ready for the party. But noooooo.
Last night we had dinner at the nursing home because they do a monthly dinner for the families of birthday residents, so she told us she had something for us to bring back home for the party (she lives on the other side of the bay too). Her contribution?
A crock pot! an empty crock pot! But she thought we could use it if we wanted to make meatballs or something like that. No offer to bake, shop, set-up, nothing but an empty crockpot!

Oh my!!!!

Probably not exactly what you were thinking when she said she had a contribution.

That is so funny! (Probably because it didn't happen to me!)
But seriously, nothing else???
Throw in a box of cookies for goodness sakes!
Sad, but true. Actually we laughed about it all the way home!
This is the same SIL that took pictures at our wedding, but neglected to take any of my family. She's a real space cadet. I find it pretty frightening that the security of our country was once in her hands!

I do feel a bit safer knowing she's no longer in the service. :lookaroun

George doesn't have to think of ways. . .it just comes naturally! :lookaroun
But somehow, over the years, it becomes less annoying and more endearing.
At least that's what I tell myself!

It's all those little things!

But it's worth it....

I told him that the next time I trip over his shoes I'm going to throw them at him.

Our apartment is pretty small...and the livingroom is definetly the smallest room (picture very tiny...very little room to walk...have to squeeze between the coffee table and his recliner to get to the kitchen). Everynight he walks in the door...takes off his shows in the middle of one of the walkways in the livingroom then immediately walks back to the bedroom (much more open and more space) to change his clothes. I asked him why he can't just walk his whole self back to the bedroom and then take off his shoes......he says he forgets :brick:

So on any given day he usually has 4-5 pairs of shoes out here....one is a pair of sandals and since it is cold now I doubt he'll need those any time soon and then there is an old and new pair of sneakers :brick:

I don't know what I'm going to do with him :p

That will never change. Trust me! I still find Dave's socks everywhere in the house. The only solution is to toughen up his feet so that he can just go barefoot!

I keep telling him that I don't know what will happen when we have kids....I already have problems keeping after him and the cat :p
Kids are a lot easier - you get to start with a clean slate. And sometimes, sometimes, they like to help you clean the house (they outgrow this around the age of 2 however)

So I attempted my first pumpkin roll last night. It turned out pretty well excpet that it cracked on the one side...but it still tastes good.

Jay keeps telling me that I have turned into quite the Martha Stewart since we got married...he gets so impressed when I make a new dinner or dessert...............I guess he's not all bad

Somethings you just can't change. And that may well be one of them.
One thing I have learned over the years is to pick my battles. Things that would have me constantly nagging and maybe even yelling years ago, just don't seem that important anymore.
