It's MIL's birthday Sunday, so we're having a party for her tomorrow (hence all the baking today). Since she lives on the other side of the bay now, most of her friends never get to see her, so we're bringing here over here to the church hall so they can all visit with her. It sounded so simple, but it's just getting more and more complex!:(

Things have way of snowballing!
Sounds like such a nice idea! I'm sure it will be a very special day for her!

I know what you mean - although sometimes I feel like I've been married forever!

Yeah, there's that too!

Conversation this morning:

George (taking frying pan out of cupboard):
This pan is not clean!
Dot:
Someone must have unloaded the dishwasher when the dishes were still dirty.
George:
How are you so sure it wasn't you?
Dot:
Did I say it wasn't me?
George:
Whenever you say "someone" it means me!

Oy!
We've been married a loooong time!

Good morning Susan!
And thank you!
Only 5 years on you???
For some reason, I think of you as being so much younger.

Good Morning!!

Congratulations!!! :sohappy:

Does it count if I have been married 5 months and it already seems like forever  ......just kidding :animwink:

Good morning Chrissy!
And thank you!

Chrissy, the first years of marriage are definitely the toughest!
I wouldn't be surprised if you did feel like it's been forever sometimes.

Uh-oh!
She strikes again?
This is DH's sister, not BIL's wife. Mind you, she's retired from the Navy, has no children, no resposibilities, etc. She of all people should have the time to get things ready for the party. But noooooo.
Last night we had dinner at the nursing home because they do a monthly dinner for the families of birthday residents, so she told us she had something for us to bring back home for the party (she lives on the other side of the bay too). Her contribution?
A crock pot! an empty crock pot! But she thought we could use it if we wanted to make meatballs or something like that. No offer to bake, shop, set-up, nothing but an empty crockpot!

Sometimes I ask him if he sits at work and thinks of ways to annoy me when he gets home....he finally admitted to it :p

That is so funny! (Probably because it didn't happen to me!)
But seriously, nothing else???
Throw in a box of cookies for goodness sakes!

George doesn't have to think of ways. . .it just comes naturally! :lookaroun
But somehow, over the years, it becomes less annoying and more endearing.
At least that's what I tell myself!
