Yeah, but I kind of agree with the newspaper. I think it was too soon to bring them on tv and have them remember what they just went through. They should have given him more time.

I watched it and cried too Joanna. I'm sure Oprah rushed to get first dibs on the interviews, but I thought it was very well done, all in all.

I watched it. And thought it was well done and not too intrusive, but still . . .
If that were my son, he wouldn't be on that or any other TV show. It's too soon.

I don't know. I mean they didn't ask Shawn anything too intrusive...just some basic questions. Anything he didn't want to talk about wasn't pressed on. She had quite a few questions she couldn't ask him, as per his parents request. Sure, it had only been less than a week...and maybe it would have seemed less soon if it were a week later...I don't know...but I did learn a lot from it. Oh, and I'm sure it was easy for Oprah to get dibbs as Chicago is only 6 hrs away from where this boy lived by car...and they did drive. Plus, I'm sure the trip was a nice vacation away from everything here. They are getting the same amount of media attention here...so it wouldn't have mattered whether Oprah did the interview so soon or not. They would have been hounded here until the story got out...so better to talk to Oprah and set the ground rules than for a "slimy" reporter come in and try to get a story.

OT- "You've Got Mail" is on....I forgot how much I love this movie
