The ride experience was already fairly well described in USA Today recently so all I'll say is that, imo, it's awesome. My only wish is that the liftoff phase of the ride would last for at least 15 minutes. :D

Cool! Would you like to give any more details though? How did the weightless part feel? Would you say this is one of the best attractions anywhere? Is it one of Disney's best? How long is the actual ride part? How was the "cutting-edge imagery" in the monitors? Did it seem real, etc.? Anything else you want to add, feel free. I don't want too much info that it will spoil the experience, but I'm curious how some of the things turned out.

Thanks in advance :D

I thought about giving a long, drawn-out desription of the experience. On second thought, it's probably better to let everyone just experience it. imo, it's almost like a movie. No sense in spilling the plot to those that haven't seen it yet. I'll happily tease you though:

Once you get in the capsule, you pull the shoulder restraints down to fit snugly against your waist. There's a panel in front of you with joysticks, switches, and buttons. It looks a lot like the pictures that have been posted in this forum. The panel moves towards you and lock into place close in front of you. The capsule doors close automatically. (Claustrophobics need not apply! :) )

On the viewscreen in front of you there's a hatch that's closed. Countdown begins. The hatch opens and you see blue sky. Suddenly the capsule begins to tilt backwards. A steel latice swings into view; a launch tower above you. As this is happening the countdown is ongoing. . .

Then the real fun begins. :D

Just out of curiosity...Do you have a certain day or days that you can preview it and is it after-hours or during the park hours? Does your previews start next week? (If you're supposed to keep this kind of stuff "hush-hush", obviously don't worry about it ;) )

Do you think that the previews will be extended to the rest of the WDW CMs in the upcoming week(s)?

Be sure to let us know how you felt about it :)

Well I know that it won't be open when I get ther next week but I was just able to sign up for a convention in late October that is at the Dolphin and Swan. :sohappy:

Of course, I would never miss any of the convention to catch a ride on Mission:Space :lookaroun .

I just got back this past saturday from a half week trip.
I hope to have a trip report out by tomorrow.

I should be going back in October, so it looks like it will definitely be open. At least I hope so. Finally seeing it up close just made me more excited. It sounds like they really did a good job.

Here's a question. Once it does open, will Future World stay open later?

Hey Rob, could you put up a pic of the invitation?

here you go... I've edited it a bit. Namely, I've erased the time and dates, and I've added a watermark to it. I normally wouldn't do this, but I'm sure there are people on these boards who would print one out and try to ride.

I just got home from the preview.

I think the week after the 4th of July is more realistic. I don't think Disney would open an attraction for its guests on a limited (ie- a few hours) basis on its busiest day of the year. Complaints would shoot through the roof and fighs would break out.
