So, you'll have to wait 5 extra minutes... instead of walking right on??? I still don't see how this affects you...
It DOES affect me. in a minor way. How hard is it to see that an extra 5 minutes is an effect that affects me?

MY OPINION: With M:S toning down one of the centrifuges to offer other guests a different experience, WDW is wasting money. I hate to fathom exactly how much one of those machines costs, and to not use it to it's full capacity is beyond me. Now, if they had made the ride originally with a room for those guests unable to handle MS, it would not have bothered me since that room would not contain thousands of dollars of unused machinery and only contained what was needed to give them a watered down version.

This is a great point.. I think if Disney were to make this a permanent change to the ride they should dismantle the centrofuge and add about 15 more ride chanbers... thus being able to accomodate up to 30-40 Green riders at one time

I still say that in fact we do not know exactly what WDI is doing with the ride. Sure they have said that the ectrifuge will not spin but that does not mean that it will be a junk ride. How do we know for sure that the vehicles will only tilt a "little bit"? How do we know that it will be just like sitting in a box with a television?

Unless there are any members of WDI here or engineers that designed the ride I seriously doubt that anyone here knows what the ride motions and capabilities are. How do we know that the vehicles are not capable of drastic movement that would make the non-spinning version fun?

NO ONE has rode the tamed down version yet becasue it hasn't opened yet. How can we be so quick to judge this and say it is a teribble idea and a boring ride?

Seems to me that people just want to complain about M:S in one way or another. First people were calling for it to be razed to the ground because it is a "death trap". People then wanted it tamed down, now WDW will be offerring a tamer version of the ride yet now people are complaining about that.

Let's just give WDI a chance to work their magic on this one and see how it turns out prior to jumping to conclusions. Ive said it many times in this thread and I'll say it again. Good idea WDW, thank you for trying an idea on this ride to let more guests be able to enjoy it while still letting the ones that like the full version be able to enjoy it.

Not utilizing a centrifuge is wasteful. They spent all this money on the development and implementation of the centrifuges and now they're just going to let it sit there. It's poor investment that Disney isn't usually synonymous with.

And how often do they really run all 4 centrifuges at one time. I've never seen all 4. The demand just isn't there for all 4 of them, so if they opt to make one a light version then maybe they will be using all 4. It may not be what it originally was, but since they're already wasting that centrifuge why not at least make it useful.

Exactly - It might cause some longer lines on peak days around the holiday season and that's it. From what I have read in other threads they haven't used all 4 of them in a long time. So in reality that 4th bay sits there wasting away as it is. Like I said above I think people just want to complain about the ride - I can read it already - wow we had to wait 20 minutes instead of 15 on new years day because all 4 weren't running the intense version

Well, I've ignored this thread for a long time now, so I would just like to take this moment to say, "COMPLETE AND UTTER B.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Thank you. I really wish Disney won't do this.

Where in there did you read that I would want them to knock it down and build another version? I said if it were built "Originally" (meaning from the start) I wouldn't have minded it. I do agree, it would be a waste of money to knock down and rebuild ... but Disney is not doing that are they? What they ARE doing is leaving an expensive machine to do minimal work, which IMO is a waste.

Everyone is complaining Disney is offereing a second version of M:S.... My question basically is would you rather WDI knock down M:S, wasting that 100 million, then go and spend 20 million for a "safe" attraction, like SGE????

That has nothing to do with anything.

This has everything to with anything... Everyone complains that 1 bay is being toned down and not used the way the ride was intended.. As others have pointed out (KCnole) they hardly use all 4 anyway.. So what is more of a waste... A)Using 2 centrifuges and leaving 2 not used or B) using 2 the way the ride was bult and 1 for people who want a tamer version??? I say A is more of a waste....

im with you on this 1, this is both cost effective and practicle.it makes sense to have a intense and a non intense version.

Right, without having to build another 100 million lite version of M:S or knocking down M:S altogether and building a 20 million dollar waste... Because that is exactly what would happen... With no sponsor...

You are preaching to the wrong person about SGE because ummm, look at my name :D
