So what happens if someone has a Code V during the ride? Is that a cause for an E stop of do you just keep spinning making sure to cover the entire cabin with stomach contents?

I'd imagine that stopping it wouldn't do much good... if it were spinning at the moment, the vomit would still plaster the capsule, I'd think, regardless of if you stop it afterward.

Which is why they offer motion sickness bags, to prevent the rest of the cabin from having to........ahem......pay for extra dry cleaning.:p

The individual capsules aren't monitored, so there isn't any way to know about any V until the end of the ride.

My buddy puked in the seat next to me and the spinning forces threw it right back on him. I didn't even know it happened until we were back on the ground.

That was over the summer. Then it had an official "soft open" in August before an official "launch" in October.

To the best of my knowledge, I was there on the very first day they ever allowed Guests in the attraction. The CM in the gift shop also commented on it being the very first day of Guests. We chatted briefly about how I'd love to ride a second time, but I had to leave for the airport, so the polo shirt was a nice way to commemorate my one ride.

I did a brief search for this, but couldn't find much. When Mission: SPACE was first open (during the Test and Adjust period) how much did the attraction differ? It seems to be the belief that the g-forces/spinning of the ride had been toned down, but to the video itself change at all? Was it perhaps shortened?

A long time cast member told me while I was there that it has been toned down after the deaths, slightly but yes. anyone else know about this?

Personally I thought it was a bit more tame than when it opened. when it first opened it would give me a headache if I rode it twice within a couple of hours. that doesn't seem to be the case the last few trips, also it didn't "hurt" as much.. and the lite version is still pretty cool too.

It's an AWESOME attraction........

I was told that it was actually slightly toned down in terms of G-Forces. The original version had 3gs and the current only has 2.5. The video was also altered because the original involved a slightly longer hypersleep sequence that was long enough for guests to feel the spinning, causing more motion sickness problems.

The green side actually does spin one rotation at a slow speed during the mars landing sequence. It's slow enough that you can't tell, but it does spin once to keep things interesting...

There aren't any cameras in the capsules themselves, so there is no way of knowing if someone has had a Code V or not until after the ride ends. If one has happened, the guests in pre-flight are given readmission fast passes and sent out. Guests in the ready room are re-located to the next available one and then have to wait for custodial to clean up completely before putting the bay back into operation.

Imagine what would happen if someone hid a poopy Pampers on Mission Space and the ride "took off". That would be one smelly mission!

CMs check all ride capsules between "launches" to check for missing items, make sure no one was sick, and replace any missign bard bags. So that wouldn't happen.
