Mission:Space - Status and Future

I hated Mission Space the one time I rode it. I kept feeling like I was going to puke up my lunch. Hopefully they'll get rid of it.

Bring back Horizons
If they got rid of it, and of course they won't, it would never bring back Horizons sadly...That type ride we will never see again... The amount of development and design time for an attraction like that was staggering, and it all showed... a beautiful well thought out, amazing attraction...

If mission space really has to go (which it probably will) I would love to see it reimagined into a omni mover dark ride that showcased how vast the universe is and how little we are in comparison. I love space and I really hope they keep it as a space pavilion.

I think it will be replaced eventually. Not anytime soon since I think Disney has more priorities for other Epcot pavilions, and they just invested in the pavilion with space 220, but I can’t see mission space staying another 20 years
There's at least, three-five pavilions (SSE, Imagination, WOL and Land and Seas re-dos) and another Test Track redo happening before Mission Space gets touched.

Ooh that is interesting to hear. Do you know what they're planning for the Land and Seas re-dos? I am surprised those are on the docket before Space since they are connected to the farm and aquarium respectively. I would love a better ride in Living Seas

Ik these are most likely rumors and if so why do you think this is the plan for Epcot? Maybe I missed some info since I’m still fairly new here ha ha.

They are content with having an entirely unused and abandonded pavilion right next to it. MS isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Land and Seas would likely be aesthetic touch ups if they happen, but people have talked about those for a few years and I think The Seas could be gearing up for the aesthetic touch up? (Signage changes and dolphin removal). It wouldn't be on par with re-do of attractions, something new being put into the space.

And the Test Track thing is because each version of Test Track usually lasts a decade and a few years :p.

The common consensus between those in The Know is Spaceship Earth happening after Test Track goes online, Imagination before EPCOT50, and something with WOL after Imagination.

Epcot will be 50 in seven years. I was hoping for an Imagination re-do well before. 😢

Well look at it this way, if the rumored SSE re-do follows the same scope as the announced then cancelled one did, it'll be a three year closure, I doubt they'd want both SSE and any other ride closed at the same time since SSE eats people like it's nobody's business. So by the time SSE is back up (with a plausible addition to World Showcase), Imagination will be able to go offline without impacting capacity too much.
