How full your stomach is affects how you will come out feeling when the ride is over. I've done this ride with an empty stomach, and have come out feeling better than when I rode two hours after eating (then again I rode it twice back to back)...shouldn't have done that...didn't throw up or anything...(but then again I am not prone to motion sickness)...so I guess it depends on the person....to play it safe like some have already said go on with an empty stomach.
One of the main reasons people become sick on M:S is because they don't follow the instructions of keeping their heads back, eyes open, and head straight during the ride.
Motion sickness of M:S is a bit exaggerated yes, its part of the hype behind M:S...but people do get sick, perhaps more sick than on any other attraction at WDW.
Just some thoughts.

I threw up on my friends boat(very embaraasing) in 2 ft. waves. I ate a bagel with jam, two muffins, and a glass of milk and then went to epcot and rode MS 20 minutes later. I was fine. I rode it again after eating lots of lamb from Morroco and then rode it 20 minutes later and was once again okey. I love the ride. It really depends on how you do in terms of motion sickness.

Friends and I have ridden it equally before and after meals and I really don't see the issue. There have been numerous delays that I can only guess are breaks for "disinfection". I have also picked up on a strong aroma of lysol around the gift area and outside so I guess there is that percentage.
Just hope I never get stuck on the ride with someone who isn't going to hold up. Guess when some people are reminded of it enough, they are going to "make the effort".

While I've never been on it, and also am worried to death about my first ride, I do know how it works. The difference between the teacups and MS is that MS spins on a much larger arc. You don't have to get as much speed to create the needed sensations. Also, unlike the teacups, you don't have the visual sensation of blurred spinning images to add to the problem.

Yes, your on a centrifuge, but it doesn't feel like spinning unless you ignore ALL the REPEAT warnings and lift your head and look around. Sit comfortably with your head back, face forward and enjoy the ride.

My Dentist had the same problem of a younger child going on this ride. The good news was that the kid was fine. I have seen where a kid has gone on with the parents & the kid was terrified. In those cases the kid is fine, the parents are the ones who end up being quesy!!!! As stated, just tell your child to listen to the warnings and he/she should be fine!!! Enjoy the ride, it is truly awesome!! Belle

Tough call, I would probably pass on 5-6 yrs. old although you have to WORK to lift your head up. If you go by yourself, they have a singles line (to the left as you enter the vestibule). I'm sure you'll do fine, just think takeoff from Rock n Roller Coaster three times with a little bit of Star Tours in the middle. It feels like you would expect a rocket launch to, G-forces in the chest and face. Just the fantasy of believing you are experiencing taking off in a rocket should keep you going. :sohappy:

You should be ok, you are not spinning about a tight axis like the cups. You only feel the effects of the centrifugal force. As has already been mentioned - obay the rules and you eyes will trick you into thiking you are going forwards - much as they do on Star Tours and Back to the Future.
