Cool, thanks for the update -- I was wondering when it would start. My daughter loves the show and we are usually there on Sunday mornings, so we will see if there is something new on the 20th -- really can't wait ... but if there is new traveling music I guess that means we have to learn new choreography! :lol:

Is the travel loop the only thing that is changing content wise of the show? Also any hints on what new characters will be added? I remember for the Christmas parade taping a few years back they had Drizella and Anastasia out for it, I think they would be hilarious in the show full time.

Because, believe it or not - guests actually love it. I am not a huge fan, but I have to respect their decision not to mess too much with a formula thats working.

So they are changing MISICI and not CADCT? Not saying I want another redo of the parade but heh Anything would be an improvment! haha

No, guests really enjoy it! It's really just a harmless show, only happens 3 times a day, takes about 30 minutes total from the time it parades out to the time it exits. If you don't like it, then go somewhere else aside from the hub at 11, 12:30, and 5:40.

From what I understand the changes they are making are minor -- moving the arrangements of the parade units to different parade stop locations so that there is a walkway from the hub to main street once the parade comes to a stop so guests do not get trapped in the hub (I have seen guests freak out because they can't get across the street while the performers are dancing and before the "street party" starts!)

As for the new traveling music, I don't know if that is for the start of the party (Pumpin' Up the Party) or the end (Time of Your Life) -- I would guess they are changing the travel music at the end since I have been told by one of the performers that they are trying to phase out the "Celebrate" theme, but that is just my guess and I have been WAY off before! :rolleyes:

There was a plan to change the street party completely – something along the lines of Move it, Shake it, Sing it (?) but, from what I understand, those plans didn’t come together in time, so they were scrapped and only the minor changes are being made.

and it's sad that they have let that happen. MiSiCi was only suppose to be temporary however because they are to cheap to update the afternoon parade we are stuck with it. Guests like it because it's better than the current afternoon offering, that still doesn't say it's a great show. In my opinion both are poor entertainment offerings.

I'm sure the kids like it-which wouldn't be bad if the show

1) wasn't so out of place thematically
And
2) didnt displace the main St vehicles for much of the day

I agree - but I think the subconscious idea for WDW is to try and get guests nostalgic about the entertainment offerings just as they are about the attractions. If they can desensitize guests from the mentality that parades should be swapped out every few years (and I think most are except us fans) - then maybe..just maybe...they won't have to put the money into new entertainment but every decade or so. Look how upset people say they would be if Wishes or Illuminations were replaced. I think TDO may be testing the waters to see if they can get that kind of loyalty out of the other entertainment offerings (like parades), as well. I suppose time will tell...

I agree with what you have said I only hope Disney takes note that Wishes & IllumiNations are high quality shows. In order for that to be true for the parades they will need to up the offerings. I can't tell you how many first timers i have come down with and all hate the parades and entertainment offerings of the Magic Kingdom with the exception of the fireworks.

The whole celebrate theme has been ran into the ground and is past due for ending. TDO just thinks they can save a buck and do the same thing for ten years and get by because of the high attendance in domestic and international tourists, hence the same main afternoon parade.
