I think that's the ignorant way to refer to a black man.
I mentioned something on page 2 and others have on page 3 with no response from that poster.

I refer to the Ghetto as a run down area, or something that is subpar. Not everything has to be race related.

You're right in that the word should be used that way and not race related. However, I'm not thinking the poster meant run down or sub par DJ....

If that was the poster's intention, they would not have used an adjective that describes a place to describe a person.

Very well said. As a CM I would be hurt to hear something negative about either myself or a CM friend on here. Yes it is the internet but we are still talking about real people. Thank you for expressing this in such an eloquent, polite manner.

I'm sure they are referring to way the character is acting and the peformance that is set for the MC and not necessarily the race. But still... probably not the best choice.

Yeah, unfortunately the term does have racial connotations, but I can see it being used to describe a person - unfortunately the implication is usually that the person is an uneducated (insert equivalent negative word here) African American or Hispanic person.

While this is not conformation of the original rumor, nor is it really anything that most people would care about as far as news, but this past week the red costumes for the female dancers were pulled from the show. These had been looking in really poor shape the past few months -- effects of sun damage had bleached the color out quite a bit. They were once bright red like my daughter's costume.
While this probably doesn't matter to anyone else, my daughter is a little upset because now she doesn't match any of the dancers! I don't know if these costumes will make a reappearance, or if the rumor may be true and they will not bother to remake these costumes if the show will be changing in 5 or 6 months.

Well, I would not be surprised if its essentially the same show with just the concept and music swapped out. Maybe the floats will be freshened up a bit (maybe get away from the "giftbox" style) I wouldnt be shocked if the costumes stayed the same...

I just hope they keep the same CM's performing with it. My dd is in love with a stilt walker in that show...although if they could get him on ground level and off the stilts, we'd love it.

Why can't we get rid of this show and replace it with something else. The Magic Kingdom entertainment department needs HELP!! All they do is retool current offerings and not for the better. Just my opinion though, and i'm sure many of you love it, but I can't stand this show or the current afternoon parade.
Id say, strip the parade floats for the Dreams Come True Parade and MiSiCi Street party, and make a BRAND NEW PARADE. The next Magic Kingdom parade is going to have to blow soundsational and all the other parades away.
Ive recently tried to watch the CDCT, but have found no interest since the 40th (to see if characters were specially added), And have no interest in seeing the MiSiCi.

I have heard from one of my friends who is a performer in MISICI that they are changing where the floats come to a stop. I was told that they will drive around the hub 1 1/2 times and the MC unit will stop in front of the castle -- much like it did when MISICI started. There will not be any characters or dancers in the space between the Hub and Main Street so guests can walk through there as soon as the units come to a stop since there is always the problem of guests getting stuck in the Hub and not being able to get out until they are invited to dance in the street.

there will be new travel music, 2 new characters along with the rearranging of the current characters, and different layout of how the floats are parked. this "new" show should start around nov 20th.
