Minor Fantasmic Dragon Update

The dragon appears to have new fiber-optic lights on its wings. They seem to be much brighter and more colorful than before. I believe the old ones were just green - these change color.

I think the effect looks great I'm just not a fan of the shape/amount of them. I assume the shapes they're going for are lightning bolts, no? They look more like vines to me. Maybe a bit more spacing would help with that. Otherwise, I like them!

The new lights have been there for a few months now. Saw them in October and the dragon looks great!! :)

I much prefer the old lights, or at least how they were programmed.
Since they only fired at certain times, they looked more like arcs of electricity.
These stay on so solidly and so brightly that it's much more obvious that you're looking at a simple lighting effect.

No more hand-me-downs from Disneyland, please

Why wouldn't you want better technology? Even if it is from another park? They could easily design it a bit differently... But it should definitely be the go to....

If Disneyland didn't exist you wouldn't even have Magic Kingdom or Disney World... so really Disneyworld is one giant hand me down with new and different experiences :p

Look, I don't think anyone can honestly argue that when you put the two dragons next to each other, ours looks like hot trash. I also don't think it's hurting the show. Of all of the many travesties and things to champion at Disney, the dragon is on the bottom of my list. Someone else made a great point and I don't think it's apologetic, either. The dragon does look very theatrical. It does not look realistic in any sense (well...as realistic as a dragon can look). It's fine. I would LOVE to see it get updated. Fantasmic is my favorite night show. I want to see changes come to it. Pocahontas is a great film. It's not a classic like Peter Pan. It was kind of a silly choice for the show. At least it's unique.

Keep complaining and you never know; it might just be Olaf swinging across the mountain, tossing snowflakes on top of Elsa and Anna in a couple of years.

Couldn't have said it any better about the dragon. I have never minded our dragon, in fact I love our dragon. I'd even go as far as saying I prefer the theatrical look to it, given the surrounding environment (huge stage, amphitheater, the sorts.) I would love to see some sort of upgrade to it but if it never happens, I wont be upset.

Frozen would be a welcomed addition to fantasmic over the stagnant nature of the show. Although I wouldn't do let it go I feel for the first time in forever reprise would work best for a good dream gone bad scenario. Regardless of frozen though I do think tangled would fit the show over pocahontas or any other segment beyond the finale. Make it I see the light and have lanterns and you are sure to have guests in awe.

Why? The boat is a really good representation of what it is supposed to be.

I just find it to be too "bare bones" I guess. Give it a rear paddle wheel that actually spins/propels the ship instead of the current one that just floats there. Side paddles would be even better, though it would limit character viewing a bit. And some actual puffs of steam (rather than the current chimney smoke) would be nice as well.

Basically, make it look and function more like it's an actual ship. Right now it looks too much like a floating stage with some boat accessories.
