Thank you for all of the kind remarks!

Thanks to those who replied in the orginal thread also, I went ahead and started this thread also just to sort of announce that the videos were now up.

My brother and I really had alot of fun putting it all together, although our wives wondered what the heck we were up to out in the pole barn all the time!

The screen is 13 feet wide by 10 feet tall, we angled it so that when the riders looked down at thier feet the would see the screen giving the sensaton of motion.

In a couple of the Soarin shot's you can see one of my son's standing behind the chair. We had him swing the chair at the appropriate times to give the sensation of motion to the riders. Adding the "hallway" and queue video was sort of an after-thought and ended up being alot of work.....but it was a real hit, everyone laughed when they saw it...they of course thought we were crazy (probably true!)

In the fireworks video, we had a hard time getting the camera to catch the fireworks and the lights that I had strung around trees, poles and rock gardens....so you will notice the video switching between the 2 cameras.

Anyway...alot of fun. But the funnest part is sharing it with other WDW enthusiasts on these forums!!

I just think it is so special to see all the effort you did to make something for your family to enjoy. In about 20 years those kids will be posting on this side what cool stuff their family did to celebrate WDW at home.

Yeah, I can see them at some point reflecting back "You won't believe the crazy thing my Disney nut dad and uncle put together......."

Or else when they are taking thier own kid's on Soarin (if it's still there)..."would you kid's believe years ago granpa tried to re-create a mini-version of this ride in his pole barn!!" :ROFLOL:

Epcotbob and I are offering fast passes to anyone who wants to make the drive :) I know we'll have to tear it down someday soon, that will be a sad day

But we figure we'll do something new next year too.

Very nice...I've Always wanted to do something like that.

Thank you! :)

It all started with some joking E-mails between my brother (Dreamersempire) and I about re-creating Soarin' after we borrowed a projector to watch a show at my house.

Shortly after that I found a deal on a projector and bought it....it all kind of snow-balled from there!

Can I make a reservation for 2009 yet or are the rates not yet ready? I hope your guest room is as well themed as your attractions are!

on a serious note! The videos are great! If I lived that far away from WDW when I have kids I hope I could be that creative to do something like that! Though I have a feeling you did it for yourself more than you did it for your kids!!! :) Great job!

I think we'd have a hard time denying it was in large part for us. My kids don't get to see their cousins (Bob's kids) that often so they defnately enjoyed the work part. By the time the ride happened they were kinda sick of it, but once they saw other people getting excited about it they did again too.

Thanks to everyone who commented, this is probably the reason we really did it :D
