Mini-Golf

If I understand correctly, there are three mini-golf courses at Disney World. I have never seen any of them, but hope to play at all of them next year when we go, if time allows...in addition to playing at Pirates Island in Kissimmee, which has become a tradition every time we visit Florida. What is everyone's favorite one and does the WDW transportation take you there, or do you have to drive your own vehicle?

I think there are only two mini-golf courses at WDW. There's Fantasia Gardens near the Boardwalk and Swan/Dolphin and Winter Summerland near Blizzard Beach. I've only played at Fantasia Gardens and it was a great time. I don't think WDW transportation will take you to the mini-golf courses, but I know it's very easy to walk to Fantasia Gardens from the Boardwalk area.

You can take the bus to Blizzard Beach and the mini golf course is right next to the entrance. I like Fantasia Gardens better,I like that its a literal mini golf course.

I hope to try them both next year, but I just hope it doesn't take too much time away from all the parks and the resort activities. But I guess if we will be there all of Tues-Sat and a good hunk of Monday, that should be enough time to sufficiently do everything. What is it, about 10 dollars to play and half price on the second course?

We were going to do Fantasia Gardens this past trip, and we passed it about a thousand times on the busses, but never fit it in! Haha we thought, "we're going for 8 days, we'll probably want to do stuff other than the parks!" YEAH RIGHT! But anyway, it was a shooort walk from the Swan or Dolphin or other Boardwalk area resorts. Winter Sumemrland is walkable from Blizzard Beach, I believe, but we never saw it, we're not big on water parks.

Well, technically, there are three. Fantasia Gardens hosts two seperate 18 hole courses, and Winter Summerland is one. Fantasia Gardens has the "real" golf course, with no borders, sandtraps, greens, etc, and another more traditional course.

Two locations....three courses. :)

There are 4 courses, 2 at each location. At Winter Summerland there are the Winter and the Summer Course and at Fantasia there are the Fairways and I don't remember the second courses name.

If I do all those, I might be mini-golfed out before I can do the Pirates Island course in Kissimmee. I may have to save that one for another trip...IF I can convince my wife to make that second, non-Disney vacation next year, down to Florida.

Pirates Cove is better.

Perhaps....but tradition is a pretty important thing. At least to me.:o I have played at that course every time I've visited Florida (excluding the times I went as a child with my parents), so it's become a tradition/sentimental thing. Although I would like to try Pirates Cove sometime, as well as that Hawaiin Volcano one that is pretty new, if I understand correctly. There are three on that main road through Kissimmee: Pirates Island, River Adventure, and Congo River. We have never been too interested in doing River Adventure, but we tried Congo River and enjoyed it. On one of our future trips, in addition to doing Pirates Island, I do hope to try out Pirates Cove.

This is so cool to know! My 2 best friends and I are going to dinner on the night of my birthday at Ohana, but 2 of us are staying on property to go to the parks also, neways he is a mini-golf fanatic and trust me I mean fanatic, he won't allow me to play anymore when we go to a course b/c he says my swing is so bad lol. Neways I think after dinner that night we'll have to go there!:D

fantasia gardens is possibly my favourite place in the whole of WDW, especially when you go late and you can see some of fantasmic from the course as well

SORRY, no, I meant better than WDW golf... Is Pirates Island cool?? I just was really underwhelmed by Wintersummerland. Maybe fantasia is better, but I want BIG HILLS -- and Awesome 3d themes. White grass doesn't quite do it for me.

Ya, I love Pirates Island. It has all kinds of 3D themes and hills. You play one hole on board an actual boat in the water. You go up hills and play one in a little cave behind a waterfall. Like I said...I love it partly just for the sentimental value of knowing that I have played there each time I have visited Florida and the memories involved, but also because it is just a fun course. Congo River is pretty neat, too. It's a little farther down 192 in Kissimmee.

I love the theming at Winter/Summerland, it's really awesome. The site of my brother sitting on a xmas gift box with his golf club and sweating like nobody's business at 10p at night, priceless photo.

No problem. :) So, do you think that one looks better than the ones Disney offers?

We played fantasia fairways at fantasia garden on our last trip and had a blast. That course is not a true putt-putt course, but rather a miniature golf course with sandtraps, bunkers and water.

I would recommend that trying that course at the very least. It's located across the street from the swan/dolphin hotel. Two courses are located there, the other is set up like putt-putt but has little details that make it fun. For example the mop buckets from fantasia shoot water over your head as you play one of the holes.

Ah! See, ya learn something every day. I've never been near the Winter Summerland courses, so I never would've known there were two. Thanks for clarifying!
