Mini Golf price increase

Maybe that was price including tax? Because with tax the new price is $12.84... so technically the price only went up 32 cents??? My gas has gone up more than that this month...
That would be worst case it looks like. So we are running at lest than 1 cent per post talking about it.

Some people will always complain no matter what. But most of the online "doom and gloomers" (as some would call them) wouldn't complain about the drastically rising prices of tickets/food/merch/etc if the quality of the product was always getting better or, heck, even just staying the same.
I disagree. That group is always going to have a "but this..." until the park is made in the image they have in their head personally. Disney has been in "decline" since the internet started. I find those trends occuring at the same time suspect at best.

If the MK had been meticulously maintained the past five or so years, there were new high quality attractions and entertainment, a day parade that wasn't recycled and running for 8+ years, multiple dining locations weren't shuttered, Space Mountain didn't become an embarassment, and the Fantasyland expansion was announced two years ago, I think people's perception of quality and value would be quite different.
While I can't disagree with the issues that MK has had you are only focusing on the negative.

In the past 5 years there have been high quality additions to every park except MK.

While shuttering dinning locations is a problem, you are discounting the new restaraunts that have opened or re-opened. Sanaa and Captain's Grille (which I had mentioned previously), T-Rex, Ragland Road and Paradiso 37 just to name a few.

Space Mountain wasn't considered an "embarassment" until the current refurb was indicated not to deliver what original rumors had promised. Rumors that were never officially promised by Disney.

Why would Disney have announced FL two years ago? If they had opened all 4 theme parks in 1971, think about the value then!

Still, putting things in perspective, paying 12 bucks for mini golf really isn't a big deal, that truly is the least of some of WDW's problem's right now!
Especially when the increase seem to be 32 cents.

Only a dollar higher? I can understand...

I just wrote in another thread that Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars also went up from $2.50 to $3.25 each!

This, however, is impossible to believe. :brick:

Ok, we are definitely getting off topic on this, but my final word is that for anyone who has ridden SM in Anaheim since 2005, the Florida Space Mountain truly is an embarassment. The differences between the two are massive and shocking. It has nothing to do with refurbs that "might have been" in Orlando.

I think I can agree with you on that point. Comparitively, our SM is not as good as DL's. However, we some things better than DL...um...er...our second park is better?:p:wave:

In the mid-1990's, when the decline in Walt Disney World standards effectively began to be noticeable, the internet was in its infancy and few people had access.

In any event, all the internet does is (literally) give people a forum to discuss matters. The internet did not cause Disney to close attractions, shorten park hours, reduce portion sizes, raise prices, lower quality and maintenance standards, dumb-down attractions, or otherwise lessen the guest experience.

Discussion can call greater attention to something than would otherwise be the case - and when Disney lets its own established standards slip, attention should be given to the matter. Online discussion forums may well draw more attention to problems both trivial and serious, but the decline within Disney would happen whether it is ever mentioned or not. Peeling paint or rotting wood in World Showcase wasn't caused by online discussion forums, nor would not mentioning it make the problem go away.

I believe you misunderstood me or are intentionally speaking in hyperbole.

I'm not say that the internet caused any of these. However, I will say that it gives an extremely negative minority the ability to put their complaints, justified or unjustified, true or untrue out there for everyone to read and to build a platform and following. They then to have a vested interest in only finding the negative.

My parents did not go to Disney for 5 years in the mid-80s because of several issues regarding cast members, cleanliness, and quality. However, you would think that those problems only arose during the late-90s through present, strangely enough, when the internet began to pick up momentum.

You can look at it another way, the internet allows us to document the highs and lows of a company throughout the years. Anything we have before then in jaded nostalgia (either good or bad) and unreliable.

Maybe the internet is responsible for alot of negativity but it also holds companies to a higher standard overall in my opinion. at the very least it allows me to find out about a place before I arrive so i'm not disappointed.

Is it even worthwhile to go? On my last trip I had vouchers to enjoy a free round of mini-golf at either of the courses and my girlfriend and I didn't even bother going.

The minority must be very articulate or entertaining if they are able to get their rather limited view read and accepted by folk rather than the cacophony of fan boy Green Tinted spec its all wonderful posts that dominate the many sites.

But unlike you to try an belittle someone in a post you don’t agree with. By the way, whos currently at the high tide mark in the WDWMagic know it all ing contest?

Negative post always garner more attention.

We must not be reading the same post if you are going to claim that those who tend to be more negative do not belittle others.

Also, if you feel that I am insulting other members of the site, I invite you to use the report button.

However, it seems simply that my name came up on your rolodex of patronization, so I guess I should sit back and watch my post for the next few days be trolled upon until you see something shiny and move on.

Now this is just my opinion, but its your good self and the bickering between two or three others with the constantly belligerent and aggressive posting style, coupled with a deadly serious and holier than though attitude that is in danger of slowly turning WDWM into the same sour faced dross of other sites. And Im laying no claim that either side of any debate having the posting highground.

If you feel I am trolling why not follow your own advice? Or do you feel the need to play the victim card to detract from your often barbed posts? Either way its not something bright and shiny attracting me to move on, rather its boredom of the constant drone of the self important and the regurgitated opinion posted as fact .
On the issue Id like to think some folk have the intelligence to differentiate from agenda driven whining and genuine praise and concerns.

Interesting that you take this stance yet only choose to focus a majority of your angst in my direction. I believe that if you were truely concerned with the quality of post that your criticisms of style would be spread more judiciously amongst the members of this board.

Again if you feel that my posting style or content does not conform to the rules of the forum, please, I invite you to use the reporting feature.

What victim card did I play, Pumbas? You randomly latch on to posters and pick at them for a few weeks until you get tired and move on to a new target. It's something that has happened to me and I have watched happen to other members. It's what I've observed you doing. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no victim here, nor have you posted anything I consider reportable.

On the issue Id like to think some folk have the intelligence to differentiate from agenda driven whining and genuine praise and concerns.
Good thing we have you around to point that out for everyone.

I'm done responding to you Pumbas until we have this same conversation again in a few weeks.
