Hi, I am planning a trip mid-May (15-25) 2010 to WDW for around 10 days and would like some advice on the following:

1) How is the weather during this time in Orlando?

2) How are the crowds in the parks during this time?

3) How do I find out what attractions will be down for refurbishments? I tried the WDW website but couldnt find where that info. is posted.

4) Any other advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Been there around this time the last 5+ yrs & the weather is great. It gets a little warm every once in awhile but not bad.

2) How are the crowds in the parks during this time?

Typically not bad except on weekends.

3) How do I find out what attractions will be down for refurbishments? I tried the WDW website but couldnt find where that info. is posted.

There are several websites but not sure where

4) Any other advice will be much appreciated.

Have fun. The F&G closes on Sunday 5/16 so get to Epcot early in your trip to take advantage
Thanks

we normally go either in May or April and LOVE IT!

In May the crowds are moderate except on star wars weekends, then it gets busier but still not too too bad.

The weather is perfect. we have gone around this time over 6 times and only got rained on once and it was just a quick shower. expect temperatures in the 80s night time it drops a little so you might need a sweatshirt.

as others suggested, the Flower and Garden Festival is great. My sister is a lot younger than the rest of us and finds epcot to be boring. The flower and garden festival gives her something to look at here is a picture of it from back in 2007

Have fun on your trip:)

I have gone the last two May's and think it's a good time. Actually we are going again in May for our honeymoon. It's the perfect time because you miss all of the Spring break crowd. Also another good time to go is in SEPT the crowds are very manageable.

Already typically pretty hot. Expect highs around 90F.

2) How are the crowds in the parks during this time?
Usually picking up by this point a good deal. The later in the month you get, the busier it gets with Memorial Day Weekend being very crowded.

Keep an eye out here and in WDWMagic's news section and calendar.

My birthday is May 16th so I always go that time of year myself. Don't underestimate the weather which can be muggy, humid and with scattered showers. It may be early for summer heat in other states but by May, it's often quite hot here. Stay hydrated and take breaks as needed like any other "summer" trip. Oh and have fun of course! :D

Thanks all for the great advice, its been really helpful. I've visited WDW many many times before, and also DLP for a few times. However, my visits have always been during July or August and so this is the first time I'll be visiting WDW at a time other than the peak summer season so I'm hoping that crowds as you said will be a little less compared to July/August. I understand the weather in Orlando can still be hot and humid during may but I'm hoping its a bit better than July/August but even if its not I'm sure we'll have great time.

Another thing, does anyone know if they have the fireworks show every night in the MK during may?

Thanks again

Check the calendar on Disney's website. It can change but you can always check again right before your trip.

We have been in May, July & August. May can be hot, but not nearly as hot as our trips in July/August. And I don't feel that it's as humid in May as in the summer months.
