'Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade' to be shown during regular park hours

The big difference is that it will be shown during the day. The parade is far superior at night. Although after last years party, this will be the first time in many years we are not attending a Christmas party.

And also the fact that there are far fewer people watching it during the party. Christmas parades during the regular park hours take place at some serious busy times. It is packed.

This year will be our first year visiting at a time when the parade is shown during the day, and I'm not looking forward to it.

We just got back from seeing Disneyland's (inferior) free Christmas parade, and the crowds for it even at off-hours on slow days were insane.

It is crazy. I've done it a few times, but it is seriously packed. Daylight makes for some good photo ops though.

So to me that is one more reason not to go to MVMCP. Starting to take the "special" things out of it.

What do you mean starting? They have shown the Christmas parade each year once the parties are finished as a replacement for the normal 3 o'clock parade between then and through Christmas. Not to mention include some of the other offerings such as the totally tomorrow land Christmas and a few other things...

I don't always go to the parties, but try to see the parade once each year... :lookaroun

yeah exactly, this is nothing new so not sure why people are upset over it. As pointed out, the benefit to the party is the reduced attendance. People seriously wait 2+ hours for that parade when it is performed during the day.

I've gotten a spot in the curb 15 min prior to the start of the second parade NYE-there is no benefit from paying for the party if you are in town-the MVMCP is a colossal ripoff

Am I the only one scratching my head here? I've been reading all these threads about cheap, money-grabbing TDO not showing the Christmas parade for non-party guests like the "good ol' days". And now I see complaining that it's being shown without the extra price?

I am confused.

You've got a lot of people who realize they were hoodwinked into paying for the party. I'm sure TDO would cut the Christmas week entertainment, but even they must know they would risk losing the price insensitive "whales" who always come that week

Yep, just head to Frontierland near the path leading to Splash and I can almost guarantee you will have a great view even just a few mins before the parade.
