Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party...

So, should I go? I've been thinking about it, and I just can't decide. I've never been before, but I don't really care about "no waits" for rides, so I would be going for the other benefits.

Are the other benefits worth the $40ish extra dollars and the cost of an overly expensive costume that I would undoubtedly buy? :)

What do you think?

MNSSHP is a lot of fun. The parade is nice, the fireworks are AMAZING, the treat stations are fun, and there are rare characters out (if you are into that sort of thing).

I've been to the party every year since it started and this past year the party absolutey was the BEST ever! The fireworks, the parade, the music, it was all wonderful. Seeing a lot of the guests dressed up in costumes was very cool also. I met up with a lot of forum members and we had a great time watching the parade and going on the rides together.

Definitely do the party, it's well worth the money!

Loved it, wish we could go this Oct but we are only able to go to FL for a weekend and were doing Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios (sorry to mention the forbidden theme park:shrug:)

We are going this year and I can't wait! DH and I attended MNSSHP in '05 on our honeymoon and had a lot of fun. We didn't dress up that year, but I'm hoping we can get costumes this year (hopefully ones that will pack easily and won't take up a lot of room in the suitcase ;))

We went last year for the first time. I dressed as a Survivor contestant. It was real neat seeing all of the costumes in the park, they were very well done. That was something to do too. Our party was sold out, and the lines for the big rides were no more than about 5 minutes, then non-existant for the final hours. So don't believe that a sold out party cant get you on rides. It was great.

Who says no wait for rides? Last year there were long lines for everything when we went. Partly because it was Sept. 14th and the sky openned up and dropped an entire ocean of water within 3 hours.

My make-up ran down my face and my new Mickey umbrella had a hole in the center of it so needless to say we were miserably cold and wet...but we still had a great time!

Pictures of the aftermath of that night. Hard to see but we were soaked!:

I remember the heated discussion which ensued, also.

Just a word of advice for anyone heading to WDW or FL in general. The weather in September/October can be really rainy - not only when a hurricane hits, but torrential rains in general. And they are not the usual summer thunderstorms that last for an hour or so. These storms can go on all day or all night.

As with regular admission tickets, these are not refundable due to bad weather. WDW might do something to compensate you for a rained out event, but they don't have to do so.

So, buyer beware!

True. We received a card saying we could come back to the MK within a year, present our ticket from that night and get in for a day due to the bad weather at the party that night. They only did this because it was a hard-ticket event but not everyone knew about those cards. They didn't announce that they were giving them away. We just happened to bump into a CM who had them.

We went for the first time this past year and took our 3 year old.We went with some friends I met online and their DD turned 4 that week...It was the first time the girls ever met and our friends DD's first trip ever....
THEY HAD A BLAST!!! We didn't leave until it was all over with and our family and their family came back with 2 Princess candy bags totally full and busting at the seams!! I took pics when we got back to the hotel..it was AMAZING!!
We bought the CD from the parade and my DD listens to it everyday STILL!! It is on her iPod!! And the CD is in the car .... she knows it by heart.Never to young to enjoy good Disney fun!!

I can't wait to go back this year!! I hope we won't be disappointed!!
