Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2017

Just curious, do repeat visitors still fork over money for this? Or is it one of the 'once in a lifetime' things? My husband and I went once back in 2008 and it was an ok experience. Not our favorite night but some cool things. Now that we have two kids, I wouldn't mind taking them when they're older. But seriously, $400 bucks for one night for us? Not only once in a lifetime but we'd have to cut corners else where to justify the cost.

honestly yes, every time i've gone in October I've gone back to this. but my party is 2 people so it's a different ballgame. i like that i can have a day where i do springs or resort stuff and then get to the park around 4-5pm and basically everything is open real late.the party and atmosphere is worth it IMO.

Yep. We make it a point to go yearly to the party. I love it. Granted, we have a timeshare and are mostly doing universal this year. So the party will be our only day in the MK.

We've gone for a September party for the last 3 years. We never bothered with the character meet and greets or the candy stops. We just really like the atmosphere of the parties and the fact that historically, if the party is the only Disney park you visit during a trip, it serves as an effectively discounted one-day ticket (we're the sort of people who get to the party at 3:30 and don't leave until after midnight).

Nope. Took our kids twice over the past 12 years, with the last time being at least 5 years ago. Fine for what it was when we went. But for a family of 6, with only one in Disney's "child" pricing category, the prices are outrageous for us now. We could literally buy an annual pass for what it would cost us to attend a MNSSHP.

We are planning our second trip to WDW this October and we are going again. We did MNSSHP twice the first trip and we will be doing that again this time. My family loves the atmosphere, the meet and greets, just about everything included with MNSSHP. The only part of the party that doesn't matter to my family is the candy. For my family (4) it is still worth the cost in our opinion... But someday, that may not be the case, the prices have risen quite a bit since the last time we went (2015).

Then don't go lol, Most people don't visit Disney like 34534656 times and sit complaining about it on a message board.

Um excuse me but if @marni1971 visited 34534656 times he would be 94615.5 years old**. Worst post ever...

**Data assumes one visit per day and that the @MinnieWaffles' head is totally full of pixie dust and devoid of everything else.

No thanks. I'll just compare Disney prices to Disney prices not even ten years ago. The greed is apparent.

I know, it's crazy. I would spend a week and go to 2 or 3 parties back then. Especially with an AP discount, it was an easy $30 bucks to spend. Now? With less to do and prices so crazy? No way jose. At least HHN is a completely original experience, unlike the MK parties which have become not much more than paid EMH.

I agree the prices are outrageous, but so is your last line. I've been to four Halloween parties and never gone on a single ride. My bigger issue is that the entertainment stagnates (and I realize there is a new castle show at each--we love Spelltacular). After two years of MNSSHP, we are done for awhile until they change things up. We are trying MVMCP for the first time this year, mostly as something new. We've never seen the entertainment, and yes, they offer it for "free" Christmas week in exchange for paying $125 to get in, $600/night at Wilderness Lodge, and massive crowds. We concluded that the party is a far cheaper way to see the entertainment and we get smaller crowds thrown in.

Granted, this isn't something we will do year-after-year. We will enjoy the novel experience this year.

Do we know yet if the fireworks will stay the same as in past years? I'd be fine with that, just wondering with Wishes last night today. I'm also wondering if HEA not being on the calendar for the last two weeks of August yet has anything to do with MNSSHP starting then as well.
