Not to mention the new Mickey shorts features references to older Disney material and some obscure ones. I love how the latest short featured Tillie Tiger and Elmer Elephant holding hands near Niagara Falls. The Elmer Elephant short is my favorite of the Silly Symphony cartoons.

It's likely. If not an opening date, at least an opening season (I.e. may).

I'm expecting some form of video, audio, or just media for promotion.

I am told that there are efforts now to switch out some of the Mickey voice lines with ones recorded years ago by Wayne Allwine, and hide a sweet reminder in the ride somehow that it is dedicated to the memory of Russi and Wayne. I think that's a very fitting thing to be done for the ride, given that it was one of the final times Russi played Minnie Mouse.

So basically like they did with DL's Fantasmic mixing Wayne's and Brett's audio.

And the same as they did with Donald in Philharmagic. They haven't decided what small symbol to put in the ride to dedicate it to Wayne and Russi, but it should be there when the ride opens. And brb1006, I usually can't say where I get my info, although I have done it once before on the forums when it was okay to reveal.

Our best moment was with the opening of Pandora, all the suits were there, and we came out of Tiffin's wearing our "wall" shirts I made from the quotes on the construction walls around Rivers of light. One of the CMs pointed it out to Djuan Rivers (VP of Animal Kingdom), who insisted we all take a picture together. Pretty impressive as there were 8 of us, and we had each wall panel. One of our favorite souvenirs!

Something seems off here...Jim Hill explicitly said in the newest fine tooning it way May. I’m inclined to believe him however, what is up with this attraction to be delayed for SO LONG. I get rise needs workers but all the way to May? This not matching up with what you know (judging by your reaction) also surprises me. Doesn’t sound right to me, aren’t they going to be opening rat sometime around then also? What have you heard @marni1971 about either rat or runaway?

I understood the Mickey ride stalled whilst brainpower was moved to RotR and had gone back to April. I anticipate Rat around April although it is moving quickly ahead.

Disney doesn't rush projects because of a rumored opening date unlike the competition.

They are going to open up 2 E-Tickets that close to each other with no big hoopla? Wouldn’t they want to space them out? I’m cool with 2 E-Tickets at the same time but wouldn’t they want to capitalize?

Absolutely agree with you and that’s for the better. It does worry me however that it seems kinda late. Your absolutely correct though, I have every confidence this ride will be great. We don’t want to have a Hagrids problem.

Clearly wasn't the plan to have both open around the same time but as Martin mentioned, if Rat is ahead of schedule and stays that way through the duration of construction/testing, it very well could open in February/March with Mickey/Minnie in May. That gives some separation between the 2 rides for the Disney PR team to drum up some "hoopla". I could see them shooting for a Memorial Day opening if it has indeed slipped again.

They closed two at the same time, so why not? Remember that GotG and GMR closed at the same time...At the rate that Uni is catching up, I think there isn't really time to play games with openings anymore. If you allow Uni an opening, they have shown they are more than willing to throw money into carving a chunk out of WDW guest levels.
