So is Disney. Depends on how we define "for summer," however. I don't see Memorial Day 2019 happening, but it should open during the season of summer 2019. Probably even during the time people actually consider to be summer (i.e. well before September 20). Meanwhile, Galaxy's Edge "late fall 2019" opening will likely occur when there are non-denominational holiday trees out.

So you're saying Dec for Galaxy's Edge?

Depends if he’s referring to parks or resorts. MVMCP starts pretty much right after Halloween, so technically that could mean November.

I would think they’d aim for Thanksgiving.

Edit: beaten to it! :)

I would guess before Thanksgiving.
Decorations usually go up the first week of November.

I would think after Thanksgiving makes the most sense from a money perspective. They get what they get for Thanksgiving weekend anyway, no need to incentivise it. And the weekend after Thanksgiving would put the opening at exactly 6 months after the (projected by blackout dates) opening of SW:GE at DLR.

But yes, Nov or Dec are the only options. It will not be open earlier than Nov.

DLR pass blockouts begin the last week of June 2019, So Im putting my money on June 28th/29th for DLR opening and Dec 6/7 for WDW

The Mickey ride will be open by then.
So SW:GE not open by then for sure? Or still up in the air?

I understand many of you saying its better to be there before, but I won't be at WDW for a few years after this trip, so I really hoped to see the new land. Ofcourse MMRR is also one of the things I'm looking forward to.

@marni1971 Do you think it would be a better bet for me to shift to the first weeks of dec instead of nov? I don't want to miss this land by a few weeks!

SWL is still liable to some delay. There’s a timeframe that’s purposely not been tightened yet. The Mickey ride will open before SWL, possibly a month or more before. As of now to be safe visiting later is obviously better, but also busier into the Christmas season.

Having said that I can’t personally recommend the average guest trying SWL until 2020. I expect it to be at capacity virtually all the time until after new year.

Thank you! I guess I'll just try my luck then. I got into HP when it first opened at Uni. I know this will probably be more difficult than that, but at least I've been in a comparable situation before. Thanks anyway.

Photo update as of Tuesday, August 14, 2018. About half of the Chinese Theatre courtyard has been walled off.
