Your right. I was thinking since the last time there was a Mickey Mouse attraction in Disneyland which would be when Toon Town opened in 1993. I'm thinking backwards again.Wouldn’t that be 38 years ?

The day Disneyland opened? You know how long it took for Disneyland to get a Mickey Mouse attraction?
I meant a actual ride.
Remember when Disney would take building another version of an attraction as an opportunity to plus the experience, or at the very least change the ride in a way that makes it fit the park it's being built in better? Those were the days.
Well, they are going to need more restrooms and dining in the area due to the increased traffic, I would tend to bet that will account for at least some of the extra space, not to mention some backstage areas.Unless they aren't using the entire area highlighted, this construction site used 25-30 thousand more square feet than the old GMR building.

Have you seen what they’re doing to Tokyo DisneySEA?The way they've been expanding DL looks weird from above. It used to be a sort of an oval, a bit off center with the east side vs. west side comparing to the castle, now it's like a more distorted oval with tumors. Must drive OCD people nuts.

Why did they build them? $$$$$ of course. After seeing how much TDL ranked in (and Disney not owning it) they decided the blanket the world with Disney parks.Honestly, I don't pay attention to the foreign Disney parks aside from whatever they've been doing to get them back open. I'm going to be controversial here, but Disney and especially Disneyland itself is such an American thing, I never got why they built all these resorts overseas except that foreigners basically wanted what we have. I can think of few things more American than Disneyland and the foreign parks slightly tarnish that idea. Just slightly.
Just like McDonalds. Why did they build them? $$$$$ of course. After seeing how much TDL ranked in (and Disney not owning it) they decided the blanket the world with Disney parks.
Didn't work out quite so well in the end...

Well, the parks certainly didn't generate the $$$$ TDL ever did. And doubtful that they ever will. But we shall see.Is it the end already? I doubt they built a park in Shanghai just for the results up through 2020 with no thought to 2021 and beyond. Let's see how the international parks are doing after a few decades to see their true worth. (Even Paris, by this measurement, has been a net positive for the company, and that had a very auspicious start).
