I know you re joking but that place sounds like the most terrible claustrophobic idea. Indoor Cruise ship cosplaying with no windows for $2,000 a night. No thanks. Sounds like a Pop up experience or a one and done. Not a place anyone ever would stay more than one time, if at all.
Totally agree with you. If it is anything like GE, there will be no aliens or droids or action. Just human cast members poorly playing cosplay games with zombie tourists.

I'm onboard with not getting aboard. Initially I was intrigued, but after GE opened with the soul of SW severed, Disney would have to pay me to endure the experience.

Of course, at this point I'm hardly in their target demo, anyway.

It's easier to clone an attraction that is popular than create a brand new one. I honestly have no problem with cloning rides but it is nice to see brand new ones as well.

I personally don’t really care for the same attraction going around, unless it was initially announced that it would be replicated. But it is what it is. The replication/cloning boat has long sailed, since 1971.

Disney will need new attractions to help bring the crowds back. Spider-Man, MMRR and Avengers will survive to open for that reason alone. Anything else beyond that (revamped Tomorrowland, revamped Fantasy Land, revamped Hollywood backlot, 3rd ride in SWGE) will be what is significantly pushed down the road.

I agree they will need new attractions to bring the crowds back, but I do also think they're going to be pushed down the road for a bit. Considering the fact that they're going to need to ease back into operations and try to recover from the financial hit of this pandemic, I can see them deciding they don't want to spend a lot of money building these things right away. Or, at least not the Avengers ride. I know Spider-Man is very far along, and I know MMRR only has the foundation laid out so it's possible that could get somewhat significantly pushed back. I don't think any of these will be cancelled like some have suggested in other threads / online, but I do believe they will be delayed more than some care to admit, specifically the Avengers ride sadly.

They are going to need new attractions, but opening new attractions before a vaccine is readily available won't do anything. A lot of people aren't considering traveling during this situation. It doesn't make any sense for Disney to open new attractions before everything is back to the new normal.

What differences are we expecting there to be at Disneyland in response to a 'new normal'?. I'd bet the only meaningful difference we see in the park is hand sanitizer spread throughout for the next 6 months until society forgets.

Remember when Disney would take building another version of an attraction as an opportunity to plus the experience, or at the very least change the ride in a way that makes it fit the park it's being built in better? Those were the days.

I have tried to be level headed but cautious with everything going on since January, but I personally don't think the only meaningful difference will be more sanitizer for 6 months until we forget. I don't know exactly what would change, but I believe Disney is going to be taking a much more cautious approach than some other companies might due to the nature of theme parks. I can see Disney coming under fire very very easily if an outbreak would be traced back to them, and they know that is very possible. I could see some forms of change in an attempt to reduce crowding lasting for a long time, probably not permanently, but longer than 6 months of sanitizer. Again, this all depends on how we're going to be able to manage the virus in the future. We all expect a vaccine to come and it will all go away and we can return to life but it is very possible we don't see a vaccine for a long long time. I don't think places will remain closed until then, we literally can not continue living like this for an extended period of time without riots and literal anarchy. As long as Disney opens the parks before there is a proven vaccine / treatment, there will be major changes to how the parks operate whether we like it or not.

It didn't help when Magic Kingdom got Pirates and Haunted Mansion and California Adventure got Tower of Terror. An exact clone is the best that could happen.
