Interesting how they will be taking down “some” of the green mountains. I wonder why.

We’re getting new mountain scenery entirely if what I was told is correct. While Toontown is also receiving cosmetic upgrades, the Jolly Trolley tracks will still exist, but still won’t be functional.

I hope they at least come up with some paint that will not quickly fade away or otherwise be impacted by the California sun, if only so I won't have to hear people complain about it on, say, MiceChat anymore.

Also, where did you hear that the Jolly Trolley tracks would remain?

several of those mountains are attached to the backstage buildings, we will most likely see the ones attached to the building that will be demolished get removed.

Looks like eventually Disneyland will have its won Sky painted wall like the one in DCA Hyperion. Lets hope that the building will be built partially below ground so that it does not loom high over the land.

Anyone know if both of the buildings behind toontown will be demolished? The large one only is behind a portion of toontown, If only the large one will be demoed it will be interesting to see how tall it will be.

I still think they should take advantage of the changes and find a way of adding a covering to the area. An indoor toontown would be great use for all the projections and lighting they like to use.

Both buildings are currently a pile of rubble and yet the mountain backdrop still stands. It’s a huge chunk of real estate.

Somehow i remember seeing portions of the mountain range attached to some of those facades. Maybe there are other pieces attached to other buildings and that is what i am thinking about. Does the CM parking have some mountains attached?

I just checked, The parking structure does have a portion of the mountain attached as facade, The main sections of the mountain range were on their own support but looks like maybe they had a couple anchors to the buildings they demolished. That is probably why they are still standing.

It will be interesting to see if what they do with that backstage road between toontown and the demolished building. I doubt they will eliminate it completely because of the access gate to the land and the need to access the food and merchandise area of toontown.

Will it become two dead end streets or maybe have an extension of the new building to where the entrance will be then add hidden gates on both sides so that the area has a full access road after park hours.

maybe have two gates where i put the yellow lines in this picture, similar to what they have in the Indy queue

They could make the road dip under the queue.

Fun thing about the Indy queue is since the gates are useless during park hours, there exists a quirky little catwalk over the queue behind the railroad, for cast members who need the short cut. Most service roads are dead ends in Disneyland anyways. It should be fine.
