Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

I have just watched the video on the details of the ride on DSNY Newscast, and it is amazing the detail it goes into:

It is mostly about the WDW version (no surprise, given that it's opening first), but it also talks briefly about Disneyland's upcoming version as well, mainly in terms of the exterior and part of the queue, both of which have already been put up at least once, if not more than once.

Given what was mentioned in the video, is it possible that the ride layout in Disneyland is going to be largely identical to that of WDW? I hope not. I hope they do make some differences, mostly in scenes, if nothing else.

The only difference will be the queue, expect everything else to be the same,

Judging by the artwork, I'd say they will remain, but altered for the purpose of the new ride building, although maybe they should get rid of it to remove one less thing that needs constant repainting.
I read a while back when the ride was confirmed that they plan on redoing the backdrop all the way around Toontown. Which would make sense as I’d imagine they would want to incorporate a new design that can block out the mountains of Batuu.

Regardless, they should try to use a kind of paint that will not become so faded so easily in the California weather. Can a more muted shade of green work, as opposed to a bright, cartoonish shade of green?

Yes
I wasn’t able to snap a pic but there is an unobstructed view of the demolition on Harbor Blvd, north of Disneyland.
