Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway - Disneyland

Ludwig Von Drake is far too old and obscure for any 5-9 year old to know. They would know the characters from Duck Tales. Disney should bring back Rescue Rangers in order to make Gadget relative again.

Von Drake appeared a lot in "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and even in a few of the 2010s Mickey cartoons. I think he even shows up in at least one "DuckTales" episode. So he may be a little more relevant than you think.

He's not a major character in anything. No kid under ten is going to know who that is even if he was in one Duck Tales. (oh, except your kid of course)

If no kid knows who Von Drake is, why was he used in "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and the 2010s Mickey shorts?

I don't think a lot of kids know who Gadget is, either.
I’m in my early 20’s and have never heard of Von Drake... Theming the coaster to Duck Tales or just Chip and Dale sounds like the best idea.

If that's the case, then maybe it should just be Chip and Dale as known forever and not as Rescue Rangers because, again, I don't think many children these days know who Gadget is.

Exactly. There is a picture on the wall of the Go Coaster of Gadget but it doesn't say who she is. Rescue Rangers and Tale Spin need to be revamped just like Duck Tales. Also bring back Dark Wing Duck! That one episode of Duck Tales where they make a Dark Wing Duck movie was priceless.

I'm just saying that these areas (indeed, almost the entire land) need attention. It would be better than just letting Donald's boat in particular continue to wither away. And really, who besides serious Disney fans even know who Gadget really is?

Now that I think of it, would a copy of Goofy's Paint 'n' Playhouse require ADA additions?

i agree the land does need some help i was just pointing out that those areas are to small for full rides but refreshed homes, interactive locations or even a flat ride would work great.

it would have been perfect if they had re used the lady bug boogie and re-skinned it for the area. fun ride that would have taken little space.

what gadget needs is an upgrade in theming, i don't mind the gadget theme. here in the state gadget might be a character of the past but you would be surprised how recognizable it is with out of town people. i still see the comics for many of thise older characters sold in newsstand in foreign countries. I just never understood why she was in toontown instead of other toon characters more closely connected to Goofy, Donald, Mickey and minnie which are all in the land.
how about Donald nephews
In my opinion i really think they should consolidate toontown and cut half of it off and reuse the property. Move mickey and Minnie greet over to the south and eastern side of the land. They can use the old trolley barn area as well as the cul d sac and large green space to create a new meet and greet.

tear everything out on the west side and build a show room for another dark ride not connected to the land. build it like the ISSE show building where the ride is behind the berm and entrance south of tracks. tear out the fantasyland theater and turn that into Belles village. the new ride would enter from that area.

The remaining toontown would be half the size and allow them to build a covering over it. a covering that would allow them to go all out with theming. toontown would basically be like the mermaid land in tokyo. They can use black lighting and projections to enhance the theming and it would solve the issue of paint maintenance and allow them to have fireworks without diminishing the parks capacity at night.

Maybe it could be themed to Huey, Dewey and Louie then. Either way, given the coaster's proximity to Donald's boat, it could be like one of those "battles with Donald" cartoons.

And what does "ISSE" mean?
