Nice looking Tangled/Princess float there.

Imagine that, an all new parade with new custom-made floats designed specifically for the park the parade will debut in!

Meg Crofton would not approve.

She would not approve, but when Soundsational's run is over Im sure she'll be right on top of trying to secure its move to MK.:ROFLOL:

Still no debut date, other than spring.

Disneyland‘s new parade may debut later than expected.
The company announced last week that Mickey’s Soundsational Parade would be part of Disneyland’s summer lineup in a press release mostly about Walt Disney World’s season. The release says that the parade would debut this summer, but no date is listed.
But John McClintock, a Disneyland Resort spokesman, said the parade debut is still planned for this spring — meaning before June 21. McClintock didn’t release a specific start date.

Soundsational coming to Meg Crofton's Magic Kingdom as the key element of Summer Nightastic 2015!

She's halfway through her second 3 year contract out there though, and something tells me she'll move on to something else at the end of her current contract. Perhaps to "spend more time with family"?

May 27 Premiere: “Mickey’s Soundsational Parade” officially steps off for Memorial Day weekend, with an explosive musical score, thrilling rhythms and bold percussion that will have people dancing to many of their favorite Disney tunes. Look for whimsical float units, live musicians and some of your favorite characters. Mickey Mouse and his pals will be jamming like never before and creating an atmosphere that will be…soundsational!

The Disney Parks Blog has a few close ups of 2 floats and 1 costume. Also the parade will have more than 90 performers.

http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...mickeys-soundsational-parade-debuting-may-27/

According to Disneyland.com Soundsational will be performed daily at 4:00pm and 6:30pm, except on May 26 at 2:00pm and 4:30pm.

Thanks for the update! I wish this parade was coming to WDW or any new parade anything but the old recycled parades we been getting.

Do we know yet if the theme song will be the same as Flights Of Fantasy at Hong Kong? I believe that was the rumor

No problem. Seriously WDW needs a brand new parade no DCA left overs/DCA has no room at the moment parade. Thankfully, POD didn't also get sent over.

I think so, similar to the main themes for Mickey's Waterworks and Pixar Play Parades with different lyrics of course.

That got me thinking, and I had to Google up the current WDW parades and find out when they started their run. The Magic Kingdom's afternoon parade is the most alarming (almost shameful, when you stop and think about it), but there's not much other good news in the other WDW three parks either.

Magic Kingdom
Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade, 2001-Current (Has run under three different names, varying with marketing campaigns. Castle float dates to 1996)
Main Street Electrical Parade, 2010-2012? (Borrowed from DCA during DCA construction)
SpectroMagic, 1991-2010 (Return in 2012?)

Epcot
No current parade, since Tapestry of Nations ended in 2001

Disney's Hollywood Studios
Pixar Countdown To Fun, 2011 (Reused floats from DCA's Block Party Bash)

Disney's Animal Kingdom
Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade, 2001-Current

Where did Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams floats all go to, after it finished its 2005-08 run at Disneyland? I know they've redone the big Castle float for use in the Halloween parade, but there were a lot of other really elaborate custome floats in POD. I wonder what they do with them? Scrap heap? Why not send it to Magic Kingdom? Although I'm remembering some chatter on this board about the Liberty Square bridge that was rumored to be too narrow for many Disneyland floats to fit over, so perhaps that rumor has some merit?

The floats-
If I have this all correct, Parade of Dreams was ultimately destroyed. With the exception of the castle of course, but I believe theres one more sticking around that being Beauty and the Beast? was said to be used in A Christmas Fantasy(perhaps it was too tall?)
From Oct. 2009
http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=501968&highlight=parade+dreams

The costumes-
In Nov 2009 this Disney Parade popped up in Brazil! and surprise some costumes from Parade of Dreams can be seen being used.

1:24-the forks, spoons, knifes,(although Im pretty sure the colors are different) salt and pepper, and feather duster from Beauty and the Beast.
2:30-Flotsam and Jetsam from the Ursula.
4:32-The jumping flowers from Alice
5:45-Some more BPB costumes(perhaps from the removed section of 2005-Sept 06 version of BPB)

Sept 2010- Seems Parade of Dreams will make another cameo this time at Disneyland

2:11- The Spanish Web-dancer from the Lion King unit
2:39- A marionette from the Pinocchio unit.
And the castle float.
The opening pusher and costume float are originally from the Mickey's Magic Kingdom Celebration(one of two place holder Character Celebrations before Parade of Dreams)

Feb 2011- Once again more costumes made a return this time during the Family Fun Days- Mardi Gras, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Chip, Dale, Goofy's costumes are from the castle unit.

As for Parade of Dreams never making it to WDW I have my own speculations but I don't think there very accurate.

There is a rumor that Parade of Dreams was defiantly going to play with Celebrate! A Street Party. Parade of Dreams was also to update its show stop to "Celebrate You!" ever hear that was used in Celebrate a Dream Come True at Magic Kingdom it has a VERY similar beat/tempo as "Welcome"... It seems that what ever budget Parade of Dreams was cut from some of it found its way to beefing up Celebrate! A Street Party as well as giving Disney's Electrical Parade its updates in 2009(send back please :)) Grain of salt of course.

End of the day though its fantastic to see Disneyland once again have a 21st century day time parade worthy of being compared to the other amazing parades like Jubilation, Once Upon a Dream, Flights of Fantasy, Mickey's Waterworks, Pixar Play Parade, and the former Parade of Dreams and Block Party Bash. A freshly repaved Main Street is waiting for you, Soundsational!

Hey, I just caught this post from you two weeks late! Thank you so much for all that info. Fascinating!

Soundsational looks fantastic, and will likely be a great addition to Disneyland streets this summer.

No problem! Im actually surprised how many times POD has made appearances after its run.

Mint has an update with lots of photos of the 2 floats. I have to say the costumes for the Princess and the Frog are just beautiful!

Spoilers!
