I doubt they would be working on 2 shows at the sametime.

And yet, insiders indicate they may actually do that.

Remember, they have to get Halloween's done by mid-August, and that's three months away. Then Christmas' by late November, another three months further away.

MVMCP starts Nov 8th so early November. Maybe late Oct for testing
It’s not THAT hard to make a new fireworks show using existing, proven technology. It’s new tech that requires many years of development and testing.

It’s merely a budgetary choice when Holidays Ever After (I hope they’re more creative...) premieres. I’d say it’s more likely a yes than a no. They are panicking over Star Wars Land and frantically looking for reasons for guests to go to the other parks this Fall.

I don’t think other options are going to deter people from going to Star Wars land. In fact, I think it only encourages people to visit even more this fall instead of putting off a visit.

The hardcore fans are coming no matter what. The ones who are slightly interested would be more likely to stay away if SWL was the only thing - but that’s just my opinion.

And when they are turned away from a full SWL, where will they go? Mickey won’t be welcoming guests.

I get that. I’m just saying for people like me, I wouldn’t come only for SWL. But a new fireworks show at the party, another new ride, and SWL - for that I would book (although I guess MMRR isn’t opening before SWL now).

I Totally get the idea behind it though.

The assumption is that there are a lot of folks who aren’t really Disney fans, but ARE traveling to see SWL in particular. When they’re turned away, they want to have CMs able to suggest alternatives. Pros like us who already know everything that is new are pretty rare. And many pros are avoiding WDW like the plague right after SWL opens.

Fair enough. We booked our F&W trip for September expecting a Nov SWL opening. We horn bamboozled but not going to cancel the trip at this point.

I still think a significant number of die hard SW fans (that aren’t Disney fans) will go to DL simply because it’s first. There’s a ton of on site availability for opening week at WDW right now.

So, was it supposed to debut last year and went with Hallowishes instead? Or was MNSSHP 2018 never a deadline for this?
I personally don’t recall last year being “the plan”. It’s obviously been planned sometime since HEA premiered, but last Halloween was the first time I heard a definitive “this is the final year for Hallowishes.”

Most of us knows this already but it's worth noting, Hallo/Holiday Wishes debuted 2 years after Wishes debuted.
