I called DVC member services and the prices for 21st December MVMCP are cheaper than the two UK ticket agents, even though there is no DVC discount that night ( I'm in the UK, so had to convert the $ price to £)

Most schools are back but some areas return as late as 9/4/18. It won’t be crowded across WDW at large, but a later party is certainly likely to have fewer guests. 8/24 could even sell out merely because it’s the first party and a Friday.

The highest concentrated block of populace that comprises the wdw clientele don't typically start until Labor Day...

...or let me translate: Halloween in August is just silly. Not only that - uncomfortably hot.

Have at it

Yeah they are, in US you need to call them and its currently a multi-hour wait for an agent. However in the UK we are able to order online from ticket sites such as Attraction Tickets Direct. Ordered mine a couple of hours ago.
At roughly a 20% premium...

I am currently on hold and it says "Wait time is over 15 minutes", would they say it if it were substantially more, or is that a good estimate?

That makes sense, but is that even allowed? I thought travel agencies always had to sell things at the same price as Disney, and then made their money on the commission Disney pays.

It is allowed to charge more, but fo regular tickets (3 days and up) usually they have cheaper prices than at Disney's website... I'm not sure for party tickets though... we'll have to wait and see...
