Mermaid getting fastpass?

Does anyone know if Mermaid is fastpass? Just wondering because the addition of 2 fastpass rides will drastically help the fastpass system work better on busy days. Would put some of the pressure of of space mountain and fastpasses might last past 2pm on busy days.

Personally, I think that since the ride will probably be very popular when it first opens that a FP may be a good thing. At least til the whole "MK finally has a new ride hype" has subsided a bit.

I am going to go with a possible maybe. In theory it should load considerably faster than the other FL attractions and should not need it.

Think for yourselfer
For the good of the general public, I am hoping it does not have FP. For myself, and others here, FP would be good.

I'm assuming it will open with fastpass, but then it will get to a point where it doesn't need it (a la Philharmagic). It's comparable to Haunted Mansion, which is an extremely popular ride with fairly reasonable wait times, because omnimovers are quick loaders. (And if Mermaid doesn't have a line stacking system, like the stretch room, it will load even faster, like Nemo.) We all know it'll be hugely popular at first because it will be brand new, but I think as everyone gets used to it and it becomes older, lines will go down and fastpass will merely bog up the system like it did at Mansion (which never needed fastpass to begin with).

I'm not sure if Mermaid and Dwarfs having fastpass will impact something like Space Mountain. A lot of people who will get FPs for Mermaid and the mine train will be getting them because their child is too little to ride Space, so even if Mermaid and Dwarfs didn't exist, those guests wouldn't be getting Space fastpasses to begin with. Although I can see it having an impact on things like maybe Buzz Lightyear or Winnie the Pooh. Things that young kids can go on. Having more 'little kid' fastpass attractions will ease the fastpass load on those types of rides.

This hasn't happened with Toy Story Mania. So, I suppose it depends how good of a ride it is.

Toy Story Mania is the newest big ride at the resort, which is one of the reasons why it gets so much traffic. When Soarin' was the newest, it was the most popular. Same with Everest. When Everest opened, it had much longer lines than it does now and was the most popular ride at the resort.

Each of these rides were heavily advertised when they were the newest ride, in commercials, online, in print, etc. Toy Story Mania still is.

Also, TLM doesn't have much of a thrill or uniqueness factor. Everest is a thrill ride, so of course it's popular. And Soarin' and TSMM are unique attractions within the resort; there isn't anything else like them at WDW. TLM is similar to HM and Nemo.

I know TLM will be popular, but I wouldn't expect it to be an hour and a half wait forever. Maybe at the beginning, but probably not in five years.

I believe you can actually see a Fastpass queue in the blueprints that were posted here back in the day...

Yes you can see a fastpass line (marked in read):

Little Mermaid in Disney California Adventure will not have fastpass due to park demand and space

Little Mermaid in Florida's Magic Kingdom will have fastpass

Seven Dwarf's Mine Train will have fastpass

There has been talk of Dumbo also having Fastpass

To the original poster, the Fastpass distribution at the Magic Kingdom has always been the most manageable due to the number of Fastpass attractions. This will certainly help that.

As for Toy Story Mania, not only is it the most recent addition to WDW, it is also a low capacity addition in a park that only has 2 other rides that use Fastpass on a daily basis. The crowds at Toy Story Mania will be helped by Star Tours 2.0 - it will become the newest addition to WDW, and it will have a much higher capacity that TSM as well.

Yeah, beat me to it. TSM, capacity-wise, was underdesigned. It has approximately 1/2 the capacity it needs....which is part of the reason why the queues for it are so damn bad. (Fastpass doesn't help either)...

Having said all of that, I dont think Star Tours is going to help it one bit. It will be neat to have new ride films to experience in it....but the attraction is still the same attraction with the same capacity. I don't see how it changes anything at all....

well, TSMM was designed for DCA, a park that has roughly half the capacity of DHS. Soarin' suffered the same issues. Rides with hourly capacities that work at DCA do not work at any of the other parks in the USA.

It will absolutely help. The only way it wouldn't would be if A) no one road Star Tours or B) park attendance took a sizable hike. Assuming attendance doesn't go up much, the more people that ride Star Tours, the fewer people there are to stand in line for TSMM.

Also, I promise you, as mentioned above, a lot of TSMM's popularity is being the most recent E ticket. Star Tours 2.0 will replace it in that category. That will also help.

Of course, the lines will still be long. Just less long. I think more importantly, Fastpass will be available later in the day and without a half hour line at opening just to get one.
