Its a Brit import on NBC and since I love BBC, I taped it and watched it later. I was saddened by the ratings and reviews on this side of the pond because I thought this was a good take on the Merlin/Arthur legend. I saw that people where saying that this is not historical accurate. It's a myth people. This is the first network TV show I have watched since, i dont know, The West Wing. :ROFLOL:

I thought it made for good tv and I loved the music...it faces an uphill battle to stay on American TV. Just goes to show that the Brits do it better.

anybody else watch it?

So far I'm very impressed.

And yes, the "historical accuracy" comments are rather amusing. It isn't true to the original story, but who cares! In and of itself, it's excellent storytelling!

I knew that wasn't an american production! it felt too good *lookaroun*

I enjoyed the show! Though it felt weird having it on NBC and not Sci-fi where they usualy play the BBC shows, of course if NBC canles it..BBC American could pick it up ;)

I came across it when I was bored Sunday night and looking for something to watch, and ended up being pleasantly surprised. (Plus the Harry Potter previews were cool, too. )

Merlin is great so keep watching it as it only gets better! It finished here (UK) last Decemeber. If you like Doctor Who type programs then you'll probably like Merlin too. Also if you watch it and think that the castle reminds you of another castle situated in florida its because it's filmed at a French Castle which was one of many that inspired imagineers when they designed Cinderella's castle.

Yes its surprisingly good.

As for the Brits doing it better Id say nae nae and thrice nae, Ashes to Ashes and one or two others in a cesepit of reality dancing cooks with talent. And if it wasnt for US sit coms we would be ledt with two panel shows for laughs.

Still it could be worse I could be French

Usually I like BBC stuff, but this I just couldn't get into. I think there's just too much different from the source material for me to really be interested in it. Just having Arthur know that he's the son of Uther Pendragon rubbed me the wrong way as it is. They could easily have had the person playing Arthur play Kaye instead and the cockiness and attitude would have been right. It also would have kept the story intact a little better. I dunno, I really only watched the first episode and if I just ignored that they were supposed to be specific characters, then maybe I'd enjoy it a bit more.

I think I might just stick with the Robin Hood where they kill characters that never died and do so outside of England. At least the characters seem closer to how they should with that one.

They took the approach smallville did with superman... besides, it's entertainment... doesnt need to be accurate to the ledgends...
