Neat photos. It would be great if they did keep those SM lighting effects all year long. Tomorrowland is already the best-looking land at night due to all the wild neon effects. I'd really love to see that added in as part of it.

Thanx indeed for the updates... I just got back today and I can say that lighting for the Halloween Party was definitely something to be seen...Space Mtn. was quite colorful :D

I love the new Contemporary guest rooms, but they are pretty standard as to what most hotels are doing now.

Great point!

The look is great...I mean...this should have been done a long time ago....but hey its Disney....if it ain't broke, don't fix it (and hey maybe they're right)...and as long as people keep coming and spending...why fix it? There is one main thing Disney offers that other hotels can't....close proximity. So I think Disney rooms will always be standard...no matter how much you pay to stay....you pay for proximity and for the resort. Not the room. Kinda strange...but hey....I'd prefer the Grand Floridian over the World Center Marriott (I think thats what its called...of course it has many nicknames :lookaroun ) anyday, just to hear the howling from the mansion and the train go shoo-shoo :lookaroun....having money would help of course....*goes out to look for money*

*shrugs*

My guess is...that with these changes will come a change in price....They're probably looking into raising room rates and cashing in on the new look...right?

I agree with you to a point. While the rooms at the Contemporary look great... to me, the main feature for it has always been the proximity to the MK and the monorail. However, other Disney resorts seem to fair much better in the theming... AKL, GF, Poly, PO, etc. Even the value resorts with their icons have a feel / theme that you just can't get outside Disney.

So, it's more than just proximity that will keep the resorts hopping and people spending. If they can keep that "magic" in the resorts, people will want to stay.

You're right. The "magic" factor must always be taken into consideration....but it can be duplicated too.

Those pictures were great and your narration was even better. As for the CR I like the look of the new room but will miss the "futuristic" look of the old decor. Personally, I think the colors are now boring and, as said, the rooms look pretty typical. Not what I want from the CR.

Thanks for the Merfdate! I love the new Contemporary rooms. Has anyone stayed in the remodeled ones? Or are they just preview now?

The nicest hotels/rooms I've been in are in Walt Disney World Resort Hotels.

I don't think the room rates will go up drastically. It's called maintaining the product.
