Somebody more eloquent than me should be starting this, but oh well.

Thank you to all veterans, and to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us, I am eternally indebted and grateful.

To all who have fallen protecting the goals of freedom and rights, and our very lives, thank you.

To all of our servicemen and women...I thank you.
To all of our Veterans...I thank you.
To all of the families and friends who await the return of a loved one...I thank you.

To those who have died to preserve our way of life, not only for myself, my parents, grandparents, greart-grandparents, but for my children and grandchildren...I can never thank you enough.

So Memorial Day is in honor of veterans? Then what's Veteran Day?

Technically, it was designated to honor those who died in war. However, over the years it has been expanded to include veterans who have died after their service, and now most people remember their loved ones, whether or not they were veterans. I know that my brother and sister in law will be placing flowers on my father's grave today.

It has also been expanded to honor those who are/were willing to lay down their lives in service to our country.

Thanks for the explanation, Mom. :) I can see how important it can be to you guys. Hope you had a good and peaceful day.
