Trip Report Meet the Floridians

Hello humans!

Most of you know me by now, but for those of you who haven't followed my past TR's (particularly my most recent), I'll do some brief introductions. Feel free to check out my past reports (in my signature) if you'd like!

Who: I'm Brittany! I'm 25 and completely Disney obsessed. My better half is Dylan, also 25 and not quite as Disney obsessed. Prior to meeting me, he had never been to WDW! It was obviously top priority to remedy that.

This is our baby, Tink. She also loves Disney.

We got engaged in Magic Kingdom in June.. my dream come true! Though our wedding won't take place in Disney, it will be Disney themed.

While we were enjoying our time in the World, I accepted a 1st grade teaching position in Osceola County, Florida. Fast forward a month, and we packed up a U-Haul to relocate from Pennsylvania to the Sunshine State!

We currently live 20 minutes from Disney property, and one of our first purchases should come as no surprise. This report will be a collection of our adventures as annual passholders, and I'll update it with a Table of Contents as we go. Now, without further ado...

Saturday, August 19

Dylan had to work this morning and then was playing golf with a friend, so I was on my own today. It had been awhile since I'd been to Hollywood Studios, so that was my chosen park for the day! I was a little shocked by how much of a mess HS is with all of the the Star Wars hotel construction. It was kind of overwhelming.

I had a FP+ for RnRC so immediately made my way down Sunset Blvd. There was a lady walking behind me singing "In Summer" loud enough for all to hear. It was... awkward. Though her voice wasn't bad so I suppose that helped.

I waited 20 minutes in the FP+ line.. it didn't move for 10 of those minutes. I'm assuming the ride was temporarily down or something, though it never said as much on the app. I also sat in my limo for several minutes before the ride actually started. For whatever reason, none of my ride photos made it onto my account today. Oh well.

It was PhotoPass Day so I knew there were some special photo ops around the park that I wanted to take part in. I didn't have to go far for this one.

What an awesome... oh wait. Nope.. not an awesome magic shot.

Oh, here we go. The magic made it into the shot this time. Nice and blurry.

The other photo ops that I was interested in were meet and greets with the Evil Queen, Maleficent, and Cruella de Vil. That is until I learned that the waits were 3+ hours. No thank you.

I love these street performers! I saw two of them offering "free advice" as I passed by for a FP+ later on, but they were gone when I came back through.

A now empty GMR and I'm not sad about it. Literally can't wait for the replacement.

My next FP+ was for the Frozen Sing-a-long.. possibly my favorite show on property. It's a close call between this one and Lion King. The guy playing Eric was decent but Aria was annoying. She tried too hard to be funny and just... wasn't. Ben and Lisa will always be my favorites!

I exited the theater and decided to stop at Min & Bill's for a special beverage.

A Kahlua and Cream Chocolate Milkshake sounded like the perfect choice! It was okay, however they don't mix it up... at all. So I was basically drinking straight shots of Baileys out of the bottom of my cup. By the time it was melted enough to mix it up, there wasn't much ice cream left to mix. I ate the ice cream off of the top and threw the rest away.

Saturday, August 19 cont.

I was hungry so started making my way to ABC Commissary. This guy passed me on the way. The picture really doesn't show just how big that bag was.

I was in the mood for chicken nuggets and fries, hence my choice in QS. I did almost get out of line and go to Pizza Rizzo instead, but I refrained. The temperature was pleasant when in the shade, so I chose a table in the outdoor seating area. My meal hit the spot! You get your own drinks here, so you can get as many refills as you want. They gave me a small cup to show that I ordered water, but are they really coming around to check and make sure I didn't get pop instead? I followed the rules, but it was just a thought.

I had some friends while I ate. They couldn't possibly have been gathering around me because I kept "dropping" fries. There was a CM walking around cleaning and she was soooo on to me but couldn't catch me in the act. Birds need to eat, too!

I passed this place on my way to my last FP+ and fully expected to find @wdisney9000 inside.

Disney details as I walked...

I had a hotel reservation...

There was nobody immediately in front of or behind me as I walked through the queue, so I took my time looking at all of the details.

Like I said, my ride photo never found its way onto my account, but I had an enjoyable visit to the Twilight Zone. I checked out and decided to walk through some shops. I bought one of the ToT bells to use in my classroom to get the little munchkins' attention without having to raise my voice.

I found these adorable mugs that I need.. Dylan says no more mugs. BUT LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE!!!! The heart just puts it over the edge.

I walked over to take this picture simply because Dug is adorable, but also to remind myself of how *special* park guests can be. There was a guy leaning up against the display and he knocked two of the toys onto the floor. Rather than picking them up like a decent human being, he chose to walk away and leave them there. I returned Dug and Dug to their spots on the shelf and walked away, but not without a strong eye roll in his general direction.

Last but not least, HALLOWEEN HAS ARRIVED IN DISNEY!!! Literally cannot wait until the decorations take over the parks. I didn't buy anything today, but no fear.. I'll be buying some things at some point. I headed out for the day after I finished my shopping.

Can't wait to graduate so that whole "college" thing can stop being an inconvenience to planning my Disney trips!

Haha! I know just what you mean. Being a teacher, I was never able to go during the Fall or holiday season either. But now they aren't gonna be able to keep me away.

A few notes that I made in my phone from my Epcot trip last week... I forgot to include them in my original posts.

1. There are over 11,000 parking spots at Epcot.

2. I was walking to a FP+ behind a group of 20-something-year-old passholders (they had the things on their bands saying so at least) who had the following conversation...
"Imagine a Mickey ice cream sandwich. It would be so cool!"
"Yeah but they probably couldn't make it in the shape of a Mickey."
You're passholders but have never had a Mickey ice cream sandwich? Or at least SEEN one?

3. Waiting in line for Test Track...
"So we're gonna each lunch and then ride the ball and then look at the cities?"


Is it really kids who say the darnedest things?

The last mug I bought in 2014 was a white outside, black inside & had a silhouette of Lumiere on it with the words Be Our Guest. It was gorgeous!! Managed to get it all the way back to the UK, for it to break in the dishwasher and I couldn't find it again this time in May

I have the heart shaped mugs but with Wall-E and Eve. I also don't have room in my cupboards for more mugs so these are on a shelf for decorative purposes. Problem solved.

Lol! Too bad kids aren't as easily trained as dogs... or more accurately, parents aren't as easily trained as dogs. Otherwise you'd have that problem solved in the blink of an eye.

I'm with you. While it was a nice ride, I'm interested to see how they transition it to the Mickey Ride. And I think it's trackless, which sounds awesome.
